    well, DC comics have it that supes of the 40's is of a different earth than the ones of the 80's, and if they had not done "crisis on infinity earths", they would have probably created a new earth for the "present" superman

    tell me, if a dvd player plays dvds, and a vcr plays vhs, then how come they never called it a vhs player or a dvd recorder? i need consistancy here!

    VCR = VIDEO CASSETTE PLAYER

    reason is called that and not VHS player is because for a while there were 2 styles of Cassettes, VHS and BETA

    the VHS in the USA was the simplest and the most common, while BETA actually was for a while the most popular in South America and other nations

    BETA is actually smaller and has a better image quality
