    I never said they wouldm besides there (or is it their?) is new invention you might of heard called the phone in order to use it both people have to use it at the same time.

    but you might not get through or they might just have answering machines that won't answer the question.

    It's a question that isn't aimed to receive an answer. For example, you hear a loud, strange noise. The person next to you says, "did you hear that?" While it is obvious that everybody heard it. It's really just an expression.
