I can't begin to fathom why people would even choose to have a four day argument over cartoons. To get unto a computer and argue over animated drawings is beyond me. Don't we have better things to do with our time on this planet, than sit at a computer and argue over television shows?
I understand the desire for dedicated Avatards to come unto this board and expression the many great aspects of the show. The show expresses, to both young and old, it message of tolerance and the need to understand your fellow man. Maybe the show brought families together to watch something they all could enjoy and later reflect upon once the episode was over.
The Narutoids come unto the avatar forum and say that they want to have a little debate about why Avatar is so great.
52 pages isn't a little debate whatsoever.
And here is a definition of debate: A discussion over opposing points; an argument.
Right away people who see the word debate should immediately think, argument. Especially if the subject of the "debate" is about why a show is better than another. That kind of a subject just reeks of 'impending flaming'. The posters on this board should have left when the "little" debate decided to turn into baiting and insults:
"Perfect Agent96: If your a REAL of a show you'll defend it. If not you'll take the cowardly way out like this guy."
I thought you wanted us Avatards to explainwhy we loved the show, not have to sit here and defend it against your feeble attacks against it. This "debate' could have gone a lot smoother if you just took the positive feedback about why the show is great and just accept the fact that people like it and may not like something else.
I modified the saying to this situation, "One man's view of a show as trash, is another man's view of a show as treasure."
Avatards are fine in the show they've selected and the best thing for you to do is leave the Avatards in their peaceful environment, and go about your business enjoying the knowledge that you are enjoying yourself with a better source of entertainment, while the Avatards are blissfully unaware of what they're missing. That way both party's are happy.
Oh and in regards to the quote I used of you, it's "If you're a" not "If your a".
