has anyone noticed that everyone is a jerk to aang and friends? like Dai long??acts so superior to him even though aang is the savior, or tophs parents who think he kidnapped toph and sent people out to get them, don't they understand the concept of the "greater good"

Those examples show the citizens of the Earth Kingdom are very messed up. The Earth Kingdom ain't exactly the good guys that we thought they were in Season 1.

It's like how the Harry Potter series got at around Book #4... it's just too easy with the whole world backing you up.

I meant that the whole world-against-poor-Harry thing started at around Book 4 but continued on.

Yeah, there has to be some conflict and tension in order for it to be a good story. And, some people didn't realize it wasn't Aang's fault for disappearing for a hundred years. Actually, it was a little, but it wasn't intentional.

not all people from the earth kingdom are messed up. think of Suki and Haru and Teo. they didn't seem very messed up to me. i do agree that many from the earth kingdom are but not all. thank you

You should remember that growing up in a life of war ain't a great way to learn good values. For example:

FN:"The Earth Kingdom is full of savages and Fire is superior!"
EK:"The Fire Nation has nobody but evil savages who wish to destroy us!"

Not to mention losing family and possibly the lives of loved ones. War is not the greatest thing to live in. Regardless of whether you started it, fight in it, or are affected by it, it happens and it's bad.

I wouldn't be shocked if there's some more ppl??that hate the Avatar for the 100 years he was gone(like that fisherman from "The Storm")...and probably feel they don't need him after all this time and can win the war without his help...

and the thing that REALLY got me about Toph's dad thinking Aang kidnapped Toph...was that he hired someone to bring her back...who??REALLY kidnapped??his daughter...irony knows no limits...
