This show may have been aimed at kids but the youngin's aren't the only one feeling this show...I'm 19 and I can't stand when I miss this show...why it's popular to me? it clicks on all levels...got that good lookin animation, well though out martial arts based bending idea, character development that most cartoons don't even care about...most shows don't change their characters at all always the one thing but in Avatar characters change over time and it shows...the voice acting is top tier too...couldn't think of a better voice for Zuko than Rufio(can't remember the guys name)...and the show has some more mature elements that younger kids might not even understandwhat does a 6 year old know of genocide and war? it's worth all the hype to me

That, and I don't see teen titans at the top. But I can see why you used it as an example.

I completely agree.?? Avatar is appealing to ppl of all ages. It's not aimed towards just kids, even though Nick, unfortunately, gives off that vibe. Avatar probably has the best story out of any cartoon ever, the action is amazing and it is easy for ppl to find characters they like. We really need more shows like this.

Said it more than once, the creators have stated that they intentionally "designed it so that it can be enjoyed by everyone." I mean, eh.

That's very sad. Ppl have been complaining like crazy about how Nick has been releasing them individual. I'm very lucky that I get all my DVDs for absolutely free and I already ordered my free Complete Book 1 Collection.

Why are the kid's shows at the top?

Well, for one, the shows are appealing for all ages.

For two, kids have lots more time on their hands to come onto this site and talk on the forums, etc.

Well, it's aimed for everyone to enjoy and what's not to love about it?!?! With a mix of action, adventure, comedy, and romance, it's a pretty well blended show.

I have figured out the reason for Avatar's power
    1. It is targeted for every age and gender. My dad likes it, my aunt likes it, my little brother likes it...
    2. It is a primetime friday show. There aren't that many good shows on friday night. Thus u have the following.
    3. It has good music. Many great movies and tv shows a made by their music. For example Star Wars would have sucked if John Williams did not do the music. The music of avatar justs drives the mood.
    4. It's the art. Avatar is a combination between the massive success of anime and the natural colors American art. 5. Finally it has a deep plot. People find shows funny, or suspencful, but if each episode has connection, it would draw the viewers. Why do you think 24 is so good?

I agree with all that was said about why Avatar is so good. I live in CT and it has a very small fanbase here, because all people see when they look at it is "fantasy magic??water control powers" and "ridiculous plots" and my favorite, "lousy anime." I just say that if people actually take a half hour to watch the show, there is sooooo much more to it than that. Plus, as it has been said in the show many times, "It's not magic, it's waterbending."
