why did zuko and iroh leave the fire nation at the day of the invasion?

    does anyone have thoughts as to why zuko and iroh left when it was the day of the solar eclipse invasion? i think zuko left that day because he knew aang would be in the invasion so that was the only way of getting close to me

    ??? Iroh left because he was a prisoner. Zuko left to join Aang. The eclipse/invasion was a nice opportunity/distraction for both actions.

    They left during the invasion/Day of Black Sun because the fire benders were powerless, they couldn't stop them. Zuko had his swords to defend himself. And Iroh had his buffness, which caused the guards to keel over straight away.

    I'll tell you why, because The Invasion/The Eclipse were the turning point episodes of the season, right in the middle, where big things always happen. This was the big thing of season 3.

    Season 1: (Winter Solstice) NEWS! Roku: Oh btw Aang, you gotta kill that evil dude before summer or it's gonna get real bad real fast. Happy journey.

    Season 2: (Fury of Aang) NEWS!: OH GEEZ lyk there's an eclipse and stuff!! Hurry! To Ba Sing Se! Oh wait, Appa's stolen! A TWO FER.

    Season 3: (Day of Black Sun): OH GEEZ lyk we're invading and it sucks!! But wait, Zuko is good and Iroh broke out of prison. Yup.

    he wanted to confront his dad and not get killed by lightning. cowardly, but smart. he probably wasnt expecting ozai to distract hime like that. plus it wasnt until after N&D did he realize how much he screwed up.

    im betting iroh simply waited til right after the eclipse and surprised the guards with his awesome firebending skills.
