Ok fine, but why does Aang/Katara not signify some "balance?"
I.e. Aang goes all crazy psycho Avatar state, Katara is the only person who can bring him out of it. Seems like a good balance to me.  I personally think Zuko should be with Song, even if she is only a "filler" character. They seem pretty balanced to me as well. |
You have good thoughts on this, but so do I. If Aang is about to restore the balance to the world, he can't be depending on Katara to be sure he doesn't blow himself up in the Avatar State. This is why I think Aang is better off with strong friends but no deep romantic ties. There was a reason why Aunt Wu saw no love in his future. The "You make your own destiny" stuff can't really be what she lives by or else she'd be out of a job. I think you misunderstood what I meant by balance. I don't mean balance in the general sense as in "their relationship and treatment of eachother seemed balanced." If that's what people are truly thinking, we should just stop shipping altogether. What I meant was what will truly equalize the show. What's "balanced" to me is that Zuko and Katara will have a relationship, along with Sokka with either Suki or TyLee and Avatar Aang will be the bridge between the relationships by keeping the peace. It could be balance or the wirters could be teasing you. Think about it, people say that Kataang isn't going to happen because it would have happened already, but no it wouldn't have. The show isn't all about romance so it won't be focused on relationships in a lot of the episodes and besides it would throw the story off because Aang would be too focused on Katara to save the world from the FN. The Zutara thing many people believe is hinted because of the balance of everything, but of course no die hard Zutara fan would ever stop to think that maybe the writers are teasing them. The creators know about shipping, so they know people ship Zutara and regardless of whether it not it is going to happen they throw these little "hints" in there just to keep fans arguing, speculating, and watching. And what exactly are you saying? That Zuko and Katara don't balance each other but the fact that they'd have a relationship with each other balances the group or something? Then why can't they be paired with someone else? WHY DOES EVERYONE LIKE ZUTARA?!?! Please explain it to me, I'm dying to know.
