    I found both were good.
Season one was more dramatic, with a slight cliffhanger.
Season 2 is dramatic, with a large cliffhanger.
    Both=Awesome

Its nice to know that you also prefer season 2
i think most people do... u can clearly see that the writers learned a lot, for example the way the characters fight. and ofcourse, a lot more happens in this finale

Season 2 finale was stuffed with far more filler and predictability then Season 1. The chakra thing was joke, the di lee changing sides was not only predictable but also retarded: come on, over throwing their master for a fire nation princess that likely going to kill them all, what are they on crack??? The dialogue was hastened and shallow, stating the obvious like ???Here is the part where I double cross you??? doesn???t help. The only good parts were Toph bending metal and Zuko???s evil scar is still in charge.

I think the first part of the s2 finale was better than the first part of the s1 finale. It's closer, though, in the second part. I can still relive Aang and the Ocean Spirit kicking @ss, Yue sacrificing herself, Zhao "the moonslayer" and his tragic , Aang's trip to the amazing spirit world and the dark layer of Koh and his terrific spirit character, Iroh's powerful stand at the end against Zhao (then his kicking of firebender afterwards). It all stood out.

The 2nd part of this finale had Katara PMSing at Zuko (then later recanting), the coup, Zuko siding with Azula and betraying Uncle, Aang "giving up" Katara and going in to the Avatar state, Azula striking out Aang (pun intended), the Earth Kingdom falling, Azula manipulating Long Feng and taking control of the Dai Li.

All in all I'd give the slight edge to the season 2 finale. That ending...totally unexpected. There were some people who thought Azula would use the Dai Li in a coup, but it was still played out well. Thankfully I forgot the "Previously On" Avatar thing though with that scene with Roku from the season premiere or it really would have been spoiled. Nick is stupid for forcing them to do that. They favor mindless entertainment where anyone can pick up at any time, rather than entertainment with actual depth that you have to follow constantly.

Come up with a original ad hominem: if you notice I did give them credit for Toph and Zuko, so behold I did say something positive.

    season 2 definately.

    not a traditional cartoon ending.

they tied up a lot of loose ends ( not all)

and left alot of plot twist for next season.

season one finale didnt have alot of that.

I liked both a lot, but preferred the Season 2 finale better cause more happened. The characters were, of course superb, and Katara once again kick some FN tail, this time however itwasn't just Zuko, but Azula as well.

I have to ask though, did anyone else notice that Aang was getting knocked around a lot by Zuko, and then Azula while Katara was really holding her own, and actually did get the advantage over Azula, and would have put some serious pain on her had Zuko not intervened. I also found it weird that Zuko and Katara seemed evenly matched, while Katara was wining against Azula.

The fight was a little deceptive because of everything that was going on. First off, Zuko was far more powerful then we've ever seen him, or Aang has seen him for that matter, so Aang didn't seem well-prepared for it. Second, Aang actually hit Zuko a couple of times while Zuko only hit Aang once, but Zuko was more effective in his fighting. Every time Zuko got hit, he got up faster then Aang did. As for Azula, I'm assuming this is because she's never really fought her before so she wasn't prepared either. However, Azula has always been better then Aang. Objectively speaking, she won the last fight they had in the Drill too.

I think both finales were great.?? With the first one we got some closure on Zhao and he was finally out of the way which allowed Azula to come in with her cunning style.

Now the second finale was awesome too because of the most plot development and revelations.?? Now did the end surprise me??? Kind of but kind of not.?? It left a good cliff hanger that leaves all the viewers wondering if Zuko really did return to Azula or is he just playing to get close to defeat her?

In conclusion I will give season 2 finale the slight advantage because it left you with more questions.?? Also because everyone on this forum now has a lot to talk about until the next season.?? However we are exhausting each topic rapidly.?? LOL.?? Last season finale did not leave enough questions and that is why it loses in this case.?? The only question I can see everyone pondering from the last one is, "Who is his sister and what role is she going to play in the new season?"?? I say this because the first season doesn't cover her with the exception of 2 scenes.?? The last scene in the finale and the Agni Kai that Zuko had with his father.?? Other than that we knew nothing of her until season 2.??
