    Water can extinguish Fire, Fire can evaporate Water. Earth can win against Fire, Air can also extinguish Fire; but Air can't do no damage against Earth.

    Two main points.
    1. All forms of bending have their strong and weak points.
    2. It doesn't all depend on the element, but the bender.

    actually waterbenders are capable of changing the density of water as seen in the drill
    if waterbenders can cut through metal...they can cut through earth..and it would be even easier

    It's actually how the bender in capable of controlling it's element because some benders are better and/or more skilled than others.

    I mean we all saw Azula evaporate Katara's water at first, but later on Katara snuffed out Azula's fire. It is all in the bender, but I can still say Earthbending is the best aka Earth Kingdom is Forever .

    Airbending.
    If they can't hit you, they can't hurt you. And the only reason Aang doesn't completely kill people with airbending is because of Air Nomad philosophy...and who needs philosophy? He's cut things before (Return to Omashu, being chased by Azula) and could easily cut someone, as can a Waterbender. Since air is everywhere, that cut can come from anywhere.

    Plus the soundbending idea.

    p.s. I used to Role Play Teen Titans, and came up with a character who basically did airbending, and owned people who did fire and earth and water stuff. Fire needs oxygen...so if someone's good enough, maybe they can take oxygen out of a section of air, and let the fire die. That's what my character did.

    WATERBENING!!!
    Even though you cant use water bending always you can use healing powers, also with water you make earth become mud, so waterbending is better.
