So how does the avatar reincarniate into an airbender if there will be no more left?

Life has tons of loose ends, my friend.

And it would seem that for the first time ever, an Avatar may be a blood relative to a past Avatar.

I always thought that the next avatar would be like Sokka and Suki's kid or grandkid. (too weird if its Aang'd kid)

Then wed have a long time while we go through earth and fire once more, then the Air Avatar would be from the newly reformed Air Nomads that had a while to grow.

really? if the avatars live an average of 100 years say? then aang has got 400 years to re-populate the airbenders! think about it, its possible!

The cycle can take over 300 years to repeat itself depending on how long each avatar lives. Sometimes it may even take longer.

well maybe by some miracle, they cud find another bison frozen in an ice burg ._., the same cud be sed for momo, or another lemur is hiding somewhere. there are so many possibilities .-.

Hmmm....we could also ask Bryke...they should know XD

I like the theory about aang giving air-bending abilities to non-benders, it's the most likely. Because if Aang and Katara had Air-bending kids, who are they going to have kids with to have more air-bending kids?
So that leads me to another theory....so in the begginig of the world, where did the air-benders came from? they evolved naturally, so as many ppl has said here, by the time the avatar has completed the cycle again and has to be born an airbender....by the time new air-benders might have evolved naturally.

I like the idea of Aang giving air-bending ability, but it seems to be a bit to easy....

I don't think that it must be a child from Aang and Katara, remember that the first air-nomads learned bending from the flying bisons, yeah well, why not do that again....problably be hard but that's the thing, it has to be.

I recall that someone sometime said that the bending isn't...oh...uuh...don't remember the word for it right know, but you know it's not allways running in the blood.

But what if, let's say that Aang and Katara get what...3 kids....one of them MIGHT be a waterbender...each of these kids get kids and so on...maybe one of the granchildren (or even later) has been lucky enough to be born an air-bender.....

All I want to say is, that it will take long time for the air-benders to re-populate...if they don't get any spiritual help that is....

BTW this whole "Aang tkes fire-lord ozais fire-bending away...yeah I knew it long time ago....

avatars and the rest of the avatar world live WAYYYY longer than 100, prolly their 150 is our 75 TBH...

Bumi... is 112 and is sorta like the Samuel J Jackson type (who's like 60)

Kyoshi defeated that dude 350 years ago and Roku died 112 years ago...

Roku was 28 when he mastered all the bending (12 years of training after his 16th birthday) prolly 20-30 years after his wedding he confronted sozin, and 25 years after that he died so he died when he was around 80 let's say...

now if you are following me that means kyoshi died around 200 years ago (80ish+112) which means she was AT LEAST 150-170 years old when she died because she defeated that earthbending guy 350 years ago.

Not to mention Zuko's Great Grandfather was born almost 200 years ago... how many of ur great gandfathers were born in 1800? maybe 100-130 years ago depending on ur age...

What's my point? age as an adult is basically half of what we see as age (no aang is not 6 and a half) but adulthood lasts prolly twice as long in the avatar world and maybe longer for avatars themselves
