Well since his last one was Fire and I'm not sure if his last one before that was Earth or not I'd like to know what his next life would be.

We know:
Kyoshi, earth
Roku, fire
Aang, air
then water
earth
fire
and next is unsure because Aang is the last airbender
but the order is
Air
Water
Earth
Fire
the beginning intro is also the avatar cycle...water, earth, fire, air...so next up would be water

It will be water. Thats the cycle. Air, Water, Earth, Fire, then it starts over. Thats why he had to learn waterbending befor earth or fire.

Ya, maybe. But the avatar is the connection to the Spirit World, and I don't think they would give up that easily. Maybe they will teach a new person to be an airbender, after all there had to be a first one who learned how to bend, right.

Yes that is right, but remember the part during one of the Seige of the North episodes, someone said about how the moon taught the first waterbenders. I think after that it was done by birth.
The thing is everybody that as soon as the avatar dies the other is reincarnated in the next part of the cycle. The avatar cycle is made to be in harmony with a special season so it looks like this:
Water - Winter
Earth - Spring
Fire - Summer
Air - Autumn

??but since the next avatar was supposed to be water does anyone else think that if aang hadnt been frozen and had died when he was supposed to that katara was supposed to be the next avatar? 1 she seemed to learn waterbending very quickly (aangs a very fast learner) 2 shes about the right age 3 she hadnt lost hope and knew that the avatar was still alive... maybe a connection between them???

Well sorry (or at least I will pretend to be ) to disagree??with you GIVElove, but if Aang had died 100 years ago, then next avatar would have been born within a short time after, so I don't think it would have been Katara.
