Firebending in general lacks defensive moves but that doesn't neccessarily mean that??it doesn't have any whatsoever.

    For example:

??used to cancel out Zuko's attacks in episode 3

    or

    ??

used to lessen azula's blast in the Chase (didn't work so well, man when I saw that, God did he fall on his ass.

Ain't it nice that these things have names now. Not that I'd want them to be shouting it to the heavens right before doing it in the show. That's what we would call an anime cliche. Still, its nice to put a face on them you'know.

Don't forget the flame circle from Imprisoned...its like when ppl say Airbenders don't have any real finishing moves...well if Aang hit a human the way he hit the Sandbender sailers...they'd be plenty finished off...(not to mention that Buzzard-Wasp thing)

just for the record, does it really matter if it was dirt of rock that toph hit her with? everyone's getting a little too philosophical on wether it's rock or dirt. it doesn't matter. my point is, it's solid. it didn't look like fire would be able to stop something that solid.

anyways, can you guys post the pics of jeong jeong doing the sheild thing if you've got it?

There is one finishing move in airbending, the one you mentioned being used on the buzzard-wasp. This move is called an airslice, and it is a fatal move. Most airbenders don't use it because it is against the morals of airbending to kill and fatally harm. Airbenders believe in evasion and retreat, and are more peaceful. Thanks for posting the jeong jeong flame move.

I think azula is using a move like Neji's rotation move from naruto where he uses his chakra to block all opponent chakra attacks except with fire

??no, i just meant that we were getting a little too deep into the thought process on wether it was dirt or rock. it doesn't really matter. my point was i thought it was weird that fire could stop something as solid as . . . well let's just say earth.

how did i use it wrong? by "philosophical" i meant "deep thinking". i was kind of exagerating on how much you guys were analysing the fact that it was dirt and not rocks. but anway, that's not the point.

philoshpical means deep thinking but I dont know, I still think it was used wrong, it was more like literal thinking. You can't really be thinking to deeply when you're comparing dirt and rock.
So yeah...I was being literal...I think...great now Im not sure if im using THAT word correctly

I have a funny feeling. I've found that the way to part radiating heat and smoke (in order to make an escape, should I need one...) is to be hotter, throw off more heat than what surrounds me.
