With all the talk of various couplings and supposed deaths, we seem to forget about one of the most important characters in the show: Sokka. An odd duck, a "seventh paw"*, if you will, he is the only member of Aang's troupe that is unable to bend any element, making him appear to be mere comic relief. Some would be acceptable for Sokka to continue as that, but I refuse to think so. Why would they create such an in-depth character if they were to make him a running gag, like the cabbage guy? Since I've watched this show from the beginning, I have always felt Sokka has been destined for greater things. And now, with Season 2 drawn to a close, this feeling is becoming a realization.

I now kindly ask that there be no flaming or trolling of any kind here. You can say you disagree, but please state why, instead of unleashing a slur of "OMG WTF YU SUK!!!!!!" and so on. (Sorry, I don't speak "l33t") Remember, despite what I say, this is all speculation. The creators will most likely not choose this path, but if they do, it would be a great way to complete the character. So once again, please, do not make this a fight. I don't want that.

• What we know so far

Azula has just taken command of Ba Sing Se, and Zuko has joined forces with her, betraying Iroh. (That's all I'm saying about that, save that debate for its proper place.) Aang has just been shot Azula, and most likely killed, until Katara used the healing waters to save him. Wether or not the Avatar State??has been destroyed is still up in the air. Since Azula snuck into Ba Sing Se using the costumes of the Kyoshi warriors, we can assume that Suki is most likely dead, which makes the count of dead Sokka girlfriends to two.

• What??Suki's death??means for Sokka

If Suki is dead, Sokka will most likely go through some depression, considering he's lost two women in about three months. Once he gets out of this bout, it could make him more focused and serious, which would give him something to fight for, making him violent. However, he could be as with Princess Yue, and just act normal, but two deaths is more than enough to change anybody.

Also notice that Suki is from the Earth Kingdom, this will be important later in the talk.

Maybe. I think him becoming a bender would not be cool at all. An extremely great warrior maybe even return to the Southern Water Tribe to really train the children or even help build the tribe back up but a bender... No!
