I'd have to say air?? bending or fire bending because you can do it anywhere and you dont have to be near your element.

I like earth bending best, by the way... Can't earth eventually stop all other elements?

Earth is the only solid element, it could act as a shield to stop all other elements.

Well as you know water erodes earth so water-bending with enough training could probably just destroy the earth.

You have a point, but then again earth and water are eachothers opposites

There is no "best" element, they are only best in what special properties it has for each of them.

I would say fire is the most devistating, but its the element that requires the most restraint, discipline and control.

i think waterbending is the best type of bending. its good for offense and it can be used to heal. also katara can turn it into ice which is also very cool and would be powerful.

    Nardulo you said:

But air is earths opposite as Toph says in the episode Bitter Work, so that means fire is waters opposite.

I don't think there is any "best type of bending." All elements have their pros and cons, and not all elements can be applied in the same situation.

How many threads have there been on this subject already?

i think earth is best because:

1.without it aang wouldn't fulfill his destiny

    2.there wouldn't be toph!!

here are all the elements in order of my favorites:

    EARTH

    AIR

    FIRE

    WATER
