Could aang have healing powers too??? He's never tried it.?? I'm sure that if he tried to heal while he was in the Avatar state, he could bring someone back from the dead or something.?? (Note:?? This is not a question, I already know the answer.?? I would like to discuss it.?? That is why it is not in the Question and Answer thread.)

That's an interesting idea, though I'm not sure how it's determined who has healing abilities or not. I remember Jeong Jeong saying that the great benders of the water tribe sometimes have this ability, but Aang isn't from the water tribe. He has the ability to bend water, but he wasn't technically born a waterbender.

I've been wondering about that as well. It's very likely that at least a few of the past Avatars (Waterbenders probably) were able to heal. If he went into the Avatar State he should, in theory, be able to heal someone.

But in his regular form? I don't know. Actually, I've noticed that only girls were able to heal. Well, that or the men who are able to just got no proper training for it. Remember the Northern Water Tribe? Only girls were in that healing tent.

this is interesting indeed.... I agree that it would have to be in the Avatar State that he would be able to heal, since he is not originally form the water tribe, however, I am sure there was at one time a female Avatar from the water tribe...

And of course, once he learns to control the Avatar state, you would think he could tap into this power....

I thought only girls could do it....?? Anyway, I kinda hope not, because that's Katara's "thing" now.

Why would it be that only girls can do it? Just because there were only girls at the healing lesson? I'm sure guys could too.

There were only girls in there becuase healing is more a "woman's thing". (Remember the Northern Water Tribe was very into gender roles)

Good point...But I'm still with the "Katara's thing" ideal....
