had chosen to be a son of flame and death.

He had chosen to betray his uncle.

He had chosen to side with his sister, and the Fire Nation.

He had chosen to spurn the chance he was given.

even more so, remember in the earth king, zuko had that vision of the red dragon...(Iroh) and the blue dragon...(azula) trying to tell him what to do. in the cave, that's exactly what happened, there was a good oned a bad one, both were trying to tell him what to do, and he was in between and he chose the bad one. and even more important, when the blue dragon was telling him to sleep earlier, she was like, "sleep zuko, JUST LIKE MOTHER"! and the mom looked like she was in trouble, i think that the same thing might happen to zuko, you'd think he would have learned by now not to trust azula. tisk tisk!

I agree. If Zuko hasn't learned by now that his sister is a liar, he's incredibly thick headed. I'll bet that Azula played him so it would be easier to defeat Aang and Katara.

Zuko went many different directions in this episode. His behavior in the beginning shown that he had changed. Then he changed and decided to fight Azula. Then he changed again when he was stuck with Katara. Then he changed ONCE MORE in the end. I don't think Zuko has metomorphosized as much as I first thought. He's still confused, but doesn't hate himself anymore. THAT'S nice to know Zu Zu. I think Iroh will bring him back. Iroh was all Zuko had and now he realizes what his actions have truly caused. Zuko didn't know Iroh would help Aang or that he would give up to the Dai Li. Zuko has never thought what his actions might cause and now he HAS to. I only hope it's before Iroh is executed because WE ALL know what happens to traitors. That will be the time Zuko will turn around.

But I'm glad about the Zuko/Katara moments. Especially when she looked back when they left the cave. I think she understood him a little better than before.

It's a hard decision that Zuko made. This went through my head after the finale was over:

Zuko was raised to believe that his nation was doing the right thing. It's just like religion. The parents usually determine what religion the children will continue into their adulthood. What would anyone do in Zuko's shoes? Betray his family or join them? How can any child make that decision lightheartedly? No matter what your family has done to you, you will always love them. I TRULY think that's the only real reason Zuko joined Azula. And the main reason he regrets it was that Iroh has to be the one to suffer.

I found this quote on another thread; figured it fit what everyone's talking about here. Seriously, if you guys were Zuko, and you had to chose whether to betray your family or join them, how many of you could very easily decide to betray your family? And on top of that, betray your family and join someone you have considered an enemy for so long?

But something that is bothering me here is why would Zuko side with the nation that took his mother away from him without a second thought? His father obviously doesn't care whether he lives of dies nor does Azula have a second thought about turning him over to their father as she showed in an earlier episode. I know that in the end Zuko will have to make his real choice and not be caught in-between two people who want to basically choose for him; he will have to decide for himself...........

Even if Zuko is evil, it doesn't mean that he won't try to kill his father later. In fact, I'm pretty sure that season 3 will have Zuko and Azula working together to take the throne.

I am afraid that's something that we must remember... the fire nation is gonna need a ruler after Ozai's defeat. Iroh can do it perfectly fine for a while, but after that? We NEED Zuko to fill that space, since Iroh can't have children and Azula is plain evil and would do no good for the FN. So (and since this is Nick) Zuko HAS to turn to the good side at some point, at least in the finale of book 3.

And MoA, it's Togepi, not Togapi.

lol. Yeah, he did. I think he's redeemable, but damn, won't his last decision make that hard. Good stuff. Best show ever.

This is all part of Zuko and Iroh's plan remember they were left alone by Azula and it took Zuko some time to catch up with her so that means he was with Iroh for some time. The entire Azula lies was made pretty obvious that Zuko wouldn't trust Azula...Also remember when Zuko was fighting Katara she said "I thought you changed" and he said "I have!" a sign?

I say Iroh and Zuko made this as part of their plan remember what Bumi said Neutral Jin.

Not only would this be absolutely awful, I'd be willing to bet my life savings that it's wrong.

If Zuko wasn't fully in on the jig, I don't think he would have fought as feircely against Aang. And I'm not saying that you're wrong, but you are.

I think the same thing, he acts like he doesn't know how evil his sister is.

I feel odd. It seems like Azula honestly is on Zuko's side now. I think ZUko SHOULD have learned the lesson she is a liar, but i feel maybe, its possible Azula and ZUko will return to the fire Nation, And azula will try to convince OZai Zulo is honorable. Then, he wont listen. Azula and Zuko will team up and beat ozai. Another possible scenario is Azula will betray Zuko. Finally, I believe azula could be honest, but Zuko will betray her for Iroh. Also, After that Zuko FIre blast in the cave, i thought he was PRETENDING to fight with Azula, and then he would betray her. I was wrong. ANyways, those are just some guesses.
