Nickelodeon (ended 2008)
My parents just think it's another cartoon that I watch. My??brother is hooked on this show like I am. All of my friends watch it but only a few of htem look foward to watching it.
My whole family loves the show: me, hubby, son & daughter.?? We just got back from Lone Star for lunch and funny thing is, we were discussing the "what ifs" on the finale episode.?? My sisters think me & hubby are weird (one of our 1st dates was to see Transformers the movies in theaters).
But I have made avatar fans, particularly my kids karate instructors... they are now watching the episode and both were surprised that there was such an intense show on Nick.... I think if more adults knew about the storyline, there would be even more viewers than there is now.
That is so entirely sad that your parents either don't care for it or think it's just another cartoon you watch. My husband and I and our kids are like Avatar-groupies! We absolutely LOVE Avatar! And we're really OLD! LOL
I agree with PN that if more adults saw it from the beginning or took the time to really watch they would??be avid fans??too.
If you go on Amazon.com and read the reviews written about Avatar DVDs you will find sooooooo many adults who start their review with the words, "...our kids got us??hooked..." or "...I sat down and watched Avatar with my kids and haven't been able to stop..."
What a shame to miss out on such an incredible piece??of animated artwork! It's the best!
Long Live Avatar! HA-ZAH!

My friend Hanna said I should try going to therapy because "You really need to get off that show"~Her exact words to me.

~lights candles in Eyes_Only61646's Avatar shrine and meditates~
There are lots of things in this life to be negatively influenced by and Avatar is NOT one of them. It's a shame that parents can't see that. Perhaps you should offer her parallels to the Avatar storyline and how it teaches the fundamentals of Buddhism or shows how kids can resolve moral dilemmas with an inner strength they didn't know they had.
Katara and Sokka have lost their mother to war. How many kids today have lost one of their parents to America's current War in Iraq? The themes discussed in Avatar are very relevant to our lives today.
most of my friends just like it cause of Princess Yue
My little sister loves it and watches it with me. My two aunts think Avatar is a good show from what I've told them about it. My parents and older sister don't really care.
At school, 3 of my friends love Avatar, just like me!
My friends make fun of me for watching the show.?? When I took my videos to work to let a friend borrow them for her children to watch, my friends all made fun of me each time I brought one to loan.?? I couldn't even pass off the idea that they were my children's because they know me so well by other shows I watch.
I guess maybe they are not as cool as I am and it is jealousy showing through them.?? LOL
