    This being over takes away so much of Aang's character. Katara really needs to get challenged hard though. I mean, come on. Someone's gotta make her be wrong, for the second time, and maybe it could actually have consequences this time?

    even if he did reach the avatar state, "earthly desires" can easily be put back into the pond.

    plus... when he let go of Katara, he died. It just shows that love is the greater power
