which is the best director? I'm partial towards Volpe because he's directed my favorite episodes (Winter Solstice Pt. 2, The Waterbending Master, The Library, The Drill, etc.) I think a lot of what he does is more mature elemented than the rest of the directors. Not that the others aren't mature enough.?? I think that spaulding can get a little cliche with his episodes like Bitter Work, a kind of misleading title since the kids seem to be in funny situations throughout.?? Mosst of?? you probably don't realize/care that there is a different director each episode, but I just wanted to be up this point.

Hmm... I have no idea which director does which episode, but from what you mentioned, I guess I like Volpe's work a lot.

Well I've actually always been a fan of Dave Filoni. He was a s1 director and directed The Blue Spirit, the pilot, etc. As for current directors, I'd have to go with Lauren MacMullan. She evem won an award for her amazing storyboard of The Deserter, and has also storyboarded amazing visual episodes, including Zuko Alone and The Storm. Giancarlo is great and so is Ethan, but my vote goes to Lauren MacMullan. BTW - just check the eppy guide for directors, they're listed on each eppy's main page.

Hm no poll. I don't like pickin but if it all came down to it, I'd probably go for Volpe in terms of storyboarding and Macmullan in terms of directing. Hm distinctions.

I'd have to say MacMullen. She directed some of my favorite episodes... The Deserter, Waterbending Master, Siege of the North part I. Volpe did well on another one of my favorite episodes: The Avatar State, but I do think that he can be a little clich??:
