Nickelodeon (ended 2008)
The replacement is someone who studied under Mako and the creators say he sounds a lot like Mako...this is what I got off some blog about PMX(yeah I don't know what that is either)
"In response to a question about Mako's death, Mike and Bryan talked about how Mako had such a big hand in shaping Iroh's character (along with head writer Aaron Ehasz) into the complex one that he is. And they talked about how his replacement is actually someone who studied under Mako on Broadway or something, so he like makes a lot of the same acting choices and things and even sounds like Mako as he used to be his understudy and whatnot."

Did we get a glimpse of who that was in Tales of Ba Sing Se? I really hope that's not the person who's replacing him. He didn't sound like Mako at all. It's kind of like they're weaning us, so to say, excepting the fact that I haven't heard that voice since that episode. |

I did not take note of a difference in voice in that episode. I thought it was still his voice. Thanks. Now I have to go back to see if it was his or not. Lol. |

Meh, not so much, I mean it only took about two click thingie.??Also I don't really believe??in or rather prefer to??use??"stupid" to describe anything.??M'kay??I'll just say it, yeah if??that line thingie was being directed towards me, I really didn't get it. Either way, I not really taking anythhing??really serious here, hence the "eh." Now on to more important matters (no disrespect), to answer the infamous "Is Mako gettin replaced?" question- "One question that everyone kept silent for was about Iroh's new voice actor. Although no names were mentioned as for who it is, they stated that the new voice actor had studied underneath Mako on Broadway during a show they did together, and had succeeded Mako in that role when Mako left the show. When the new voice actor had come in for a reading, they thought that he had studied the part ahead of time (they used an already aired part of Iroh's dialogue), but he had done the reading cold. They feel that Iroh's new voice actor really captures Iroh and Mako's spirit/acting."?? Its "yes" everybody. |
Well saved me the trouble, don't make threads.

I looked at the credits for that ep and it still said Mako was the VA for Iroh. |
Yes it was... It was something along the lines of, "Don't just stand there, run!" 5 words.
