    It originally came from a typo oddly enough in the game of 'WarCraft.' In other words you 'own'??a player??appeared as you 'pwn'??that??player??and believe it or not from that original technical error a new slang term was born.

    Yes. But what is more surprising is that people worldwide know that 'Avatar PWNS' means 'Avatar dominates' or that 'Avatar RULES over ALL!'

    So it just goes to show once a tradition or slang term is in place, it travels fast and may be there for good! LOL
