Why are they scared of sozin commet

sure it makes firelord better but um

Makes ang stronger too
plus he has all other elements

um.. so like dumbness?

Ozai is a firebending master. He also has an army of faceless soldiers who are going to be severely pumped up. Aang will be stronger, but it would be better for him fighting without the comet.

Ozai is a master who can shoot lightning in an instant.

Aang hasn't even mastered Earthbending, let alone Firebending.

He doesn't have the Avatar state (although I'm assuming he'll get it back).

Exactly what I was thinking. Ozai has so many soldiers fighting for him, with Sozin's Comet showing up they got stronger too. Without the comet it would be so much harder for the fire nation to destroy anything. Aang would have a better chance if there were no comet.

we saw during the fight that Aangs firebending was pumped up as well, he just didn't have enough skill with it yet to truely use it against Ozai.
