Toph vs. Katara

Who would win? (Pretend they are both in their environment)

    Eh, more or less. Katara going from novice to master in a breath of an episode (without any visuals confirming the existence of the appearant "training") was primarily for the sake of the plot. Wondered when this one would be brough out.

    Yes, but they make Toph seem like the invincible one. She has never yet battled Ty Lee and Mai fully, so I doubt she would be able to do anything if Ty Lee got a punch in, just like Katara and the other main characters. (Yes, Toph trapped Ty Lee in CoD, but that doesn't count because you know that was caught off guard, plus they has no time to fight because they needed to have Aang electricuted before 9 .)

    I think Toph would win. Back to the quotes, I think that nobody could touch Toph. Not even that circis freak because couldn't Toph just cover herself with rock? Like she did in Aang's training.

    As said before, taking a lot into consideration, I can easily see Toph swiftly making short work of Katara (also connected to the reason we haven't been presented to all that many earth vs. water fights) but I don't see the creators making her lose that easy. All in all, they need to tone it down, I mean wow.

    My money would be on Katara. The only people Toph has fought so far are earthbenders and she has the edge on them because she can 'feel' the earth. She doesn't have that advantage over other benders. Aang easily pwned her by sending a simple airblast at her, and she couldn't see it coming due to her blindness. The same would count in a fight with Katara, she wouldn't know where the water would be coming from and wouldn't be able to defend herself. One waterwhip and boom, Toph's out.

    It also depends on the terrain of course. Toph would clearly have the advantage in a landscape filled with rocks and Katara would have the edge in a landscape with water.

    It's a good point that Toph wouldn't be able to see the water coming. But I'm not sure Toph would even give Katara the chance to get out an attack. I mean, she took down the boulder in like a split second. Well, not relaly, probably almost a whole second but still. It all really depends.

    There's too much things we might not know that Toph or Katara can do. So isn't it really hard to say who would win?

    ??First of all, there is no way Toph and Katara would ever fight.?? As the series progressed, they'd gotten closer as friends.?? And even IF and that is a big IF they would ever fight, i doubt that they'd go at it at full strength, especially Katara being katara wouldn't have it in her to really want to hurt a friend.

    Heheh.?? The ONLY way we'd ever know who would win is when Nick would actually show them fighting in an episode.?? VERY unlikely but something to look forward to i guess.
