Toph, foreshadow of death?

    well, swamp was on today and I decided to tune in and something hit me.

    When that enlightenment guy says what you see in the swamp... "we see people we lost, people we loved" all in past tense... Aang sees toph correct?

    so given the fact that time is an illusion and so is death... perhaps (and this is a long shot) that's a foreshadowing of toph dying in the series, aang saw toph in the swamp because he lost her, and since time is an illusion he's seeing a vision he would see much later.

    Also strikes up a theory of aang loving toph, but I'm not sure you have to see people you loved, just people you lost.

    People have also used the scene where Azula burns her doll as "evidence". They think the doll looked like Toph, and becuase it was burned. I don't support the theory at all though. Would Nick really let them kill of a little blind girl? Really? Will they be killing Teo as well?

    I highly doubt it.?? Toph is probably one of the most popular characters on the show, and come on, do you think the writers would write someone so kickass as Toph and then kill her off??? *tsk* what a disappointment...

    I would be very disappointed if they decided to kill off toph she my favorite charchter but i dont think they're going to do that though.

    I like Toph too but since she wasnt part of the original three I could really see her dying.Right now its to early to tell .

    You missed something important about that part of the episode: Aang didn't see Toph when Hue(that old guy that was really the Swamp monster) was talking about "people you think are gone." Right after he said that Aang said "What about me? I didn't know the girl in my vision." Hue??said "You're the Avatar, you tell me." Aang thinks and said, "Time is an illusion, so it's someone I WILL meet."

    The illusion is that Aang isn't really seperated from anyone, regardless of if he already met them and isn't around them now(like Teo or Meng) or if he hasn't met them yet(at that point Toph and Guru Pattik). It has nothing to do with Toph dying, now please let the whole "Toph is gonna die" stuff...well...die.

    Hehe in the Aang/Toph community in livejournal they think Toph was a part of Aang's life in a previous incarnation. And that HE LOST HER therefore it would explain why he saw her in the swamp, where you see people you''ve loved and lost. So Aang may have loved her (as a sister/friend) in the past and lost her... I dunno.

    Maybe someone should just post: Newbies to the Avatar forum please do not waste your time posting??your thoughts about anything because the addicts have discussed everything and will yawn and complain all over your thread because they have have seen it all.

    I think this??thread is a worthwhile topic. If you have read it somewhere else already, why not let??those of us who??are seeing it for the??first time comment on it in peace?

    I don't think Toph will die. But I think you make an interesting point about the foreshadowing. However and I may have heard it wrong but I thought Aang says something to the effect that you can see visions in the swamp of people you have not yet met not just those who are no longer with us.

    I believe toph is from Aangs past, I remember the episode with the face stealer, he spoke about atealing a face from Avatar's past, maybe that was toph?
