Nalesnik your sigs are awesome! I think it is safe to say you have successfully mastered??GIMP.
Thanks to your efforts the lead is almost up to 1300 votes which is the largest amount since voting began. So, all the lost votes were made back up and then some. Good going people, and Lisa for rallying everyone to the cause.
The parrots are recounting the votes to make sure there are no hanging chads.

Hehehe hanging chads....ah, the median age group who frequents this forum probably will never know about those things as they will??most likely??never experience 'paper' voting. By the time they turn 18 it will be electronic voting despite its inherent flaws and conspiracy-theory inaccuracies.??

So true, so true.?? Thankfully, here in Kentucky we use fill in the circles with #2 pencils ballots. No hanging chads, but none of the problems with the fully electronic voting machines. Of course, there are plenty of other ways to mess with the process. I don't remember when but one time in the past somehow over 100 dead people voted in a state senate race. I would??have hated to have been??working that voting area. Everything is going fine, then you look up and all these zombies are wanting you to check their ids so they can go vote.??
Goodnight all. Have been up since 4am. Glad I don't work Friday.
Lisa31468, it has been fun playing tag throughout the different threads and blogs tonight. Have to give a shout out to Mike. To everyone else it has been cool. Now go vote if you have not so far.
The parrots are still recounting votes.

That would make a great horror flick!
Coming soon to a??cineplex near you....
They're dead,?? they're gross, they walk and they vote, "Night of the Voting Zombies" coming soon at a theater near you!
Pleasant dreams 13-P and so glad you have??the day off tomorrow, you deserve it workaholic! LOL
Filling in bubbles with a #2 pencil to vote?!? How small??is this town you live in? Hehehe

I don't think it's fair to compare Avatar with The Simpsons. Avatar is a superior show, but the Simpsons is like the Godfather of cartoons. It has lasted over 16 years and on the Fox network might I add. It's one of the longest running tv shows out there. I'll be the first to admit that the quality is long gone. And I know it's a tv show, but seriously, have some respect. I love Avatar, I'm obsessed. But The Simpsons has been there my whole life. There needs to be some loyalty and respect for a show that opened up so many doors and did so much in the world of cartoons. Sorry, I don't mean to be preachy, I seriously love Avatar, and I did vote for it over the Simpsons. But don't knock down my show. Not after it's done so much. |
JadeRent13,
I just read your??blog and am sorry you were having a bad day. My sisters loved O.C. and so I at least have somewhat of a grasp about your loss. They have been majorly bummed since hearing about the cancellation. I??can't imagine what our family would do if Avatar??was yanked (and??I delete that and affirm many more years and seasons to come) from the air.
Television is certainly a huge part of the American lifestyle. It teaches, educates and comforts deeper parts of our psyches.??Our infants and toddlers grow up with PBS and Sesame Street and then later our teens and young adults??learn effective ways??to say 'no' to drugs and alcohol through pseudo afterschool specials and so on.
I know for me??because??of my age I??spent 10 long years??absolutely loving??watching??'Friends' (and still do thanks to DVDs).
It was always??so funny and comforting??to me because all of the characters were experiencing??things??in their lives that I could relate to. They were in situations??and were in times of??their life??just like me.??It was the best.
I apologize if my thread offended you. It was not my intention. I do not like 'The Simpsons' but there is enough room in this thread for you to. However personally I feel that Avatar mops up the floor with any animation on television or?? cable today. There is??just no comparison. I wish??Nickelodeon would truly realize what they have.
You know we are all a little edgy going through Avatar withdrawals right now. Even though our family has seen all of the first five episodes??of Season 2, we fully expect to have an Avatar marathon on January 23rd when the first Season 2 DVD is released.
And then God help us all it's another THREE MONTHS before another DVD from Season 2 is released. And even with that still no word from Nickelodeon as to when the??Season 3 episodes will begin to air finally.
It does make for a rather tense time??for us all but we will make it and the??forum can help.

It would certainly be a different type of zombie flick. lol
Hehehe, not small at all. Depending if you go by local officials or nationial ones I live in either the 16th or 24th largest city in America. And other than the dead showing up once in awhile, we haven't had a problem with our voting machines in the 20+ years of use.
The parrots thank JadeRent13 for some cookies and offer her/him some milk to go with the cookies.

Thanks, I think this one is definetly one of my best. I worked so hard on it. I had to scrap many ideas before I found the best possible layout. I'm so proud.

I cannot believe 'The Simpsons' have even held a tight second against our beloved 'Avatar' in the 'TV.com Best of 2006' competition! The superior animation and storyline alone should have impaled 'The Simpsons' long ago. I mean is it just me or is comparing 'Avatar' to 'The Simpletons' like comparing a top-of-the-line corvette to an avocado-green pinto? Or better yet comparing a crust of bread and a glass of water to a super deluxe Chinese mega-buffet? Give me a frickin' break. Let's face it, 'The Simps' are just not fit to even cast their eye in the general direction of 'Avatar.' What's more our forums are apparently populated entirely differently from one another. I walk into the 'Simpletons' forum and feel as if I have entered a parallel universe--a universe in which my IQ is mandatorily dropped by 50 points as soon as walk in the door. And thus I have compiled the following list: TOP 10 REASONS WHY 'AVATAR' RULES OVER 'THE SIMPSONS' 1. Come talk to us when your little chat forum has nearly 300 pages of threads like the Avatar forum, Simps! 2. The mutt-dog, 'Santa's Little Helper' VS. Appa, a 10-ton flying bison with airbending abilities. You figure it out. 3. We got Toph. ('nuff said on that one) 4. The Avatar forum editor has nearly 4,000 TV.com points with Level 35 status. Ummm, yeah. 5. Your most posted on thread is ironically entitled: Make a Stupid Question and Get a even more ridiculosy quiet stupid Simpson Q&A 6. Our forum topics have included everything from in depth discussions about literary archetypes found in Avatar to martial arts, science, physics and comparisons between Avatar and other classic epic storytelling icons such as 'Lord of the Rings' and 'Star Wars.' Your topics range from such in depth discussions as Bart or Lisa?, Simpsons/Family Guy Debate and my personal favorite, Whats up with Lenny...? 7. Who's the better bad* dynamic duo: Mr. Burns and Smithers or Fire Lord Ozai and Azula? 8. The most complex 'Simps' character is a saxaphone-playing over-achiever named Lisa Simpson. The most complex character in the Avatar world has a father hell-bent on taking over the four nations and a mother who mysteriously disappears when he is still just a little boy. He is able to generate fire from his hands and feet without being burned and is a superior warrior and skilled broadswordsman. He has a scar across his left eye and his name is Prince Zuko, son of Ozai and Ursa and heir to the Fire Nation throne. 9. Skateboarding or bareback Elephant Koi riding? People please. 10. Aang will never find himself repetitively writing 'I will not burn others through careless firebending ever again' 10,000 times on a chalkboard. He learns his lessons the first time. LONG LIVE AVATAR! HA-ZAH! Sidenote: And if you have not voted PLEASE continue to do so because apparently the voting did NOT end December 31st as we had all thought and 'The Simpsons' are gaining on us horribly! See for yourself! http://www.tv.com/feature/bestof2006/animation.html UPDATE! 1/4/07 Thank you so much for all your hard work and help! We did it! As of right now we are in first place and ahead of 'The Simps' with more than 1,000 votes! YAY! Keep those votes coming because we don't know for sure when the voting will end and the final call will be made! |
