They'll probably mention something about the mini-episodes on the SDCC, give us a hint about what they're about or something.

If you don't know about the mini-episodes:

See where I'm going with this? No? Let me give you a hint; four nations, four elements, three seasons... what's missing?

That's right, boys and girls, a season with predominantly yellow- an Air Book!!!

Of course now that the world's saved and everything is good, it would be pretty hard to make a good fourth season.

Unless of course, it was "The Hobbit" book of the series- a prequel/sequel or something.
mmm.. i agree, but not on the yellow thing? BECAUSE- when aang wen nuclear(spirit energy think with ozai) Ozai turned orange red obviously represents fire, and aang went blue? bit confusing as im with you on water being blue? my thoughts air will be white rather than yellow!

I'm just so excited to hear the news from the people who get to go to the Avatar panel at the San Diego Comic Con !!!

It's pretty much that the future of the Avatar Universe will be revealed within the next 5 days !!!

...Unless it really is the end and the creators are just like... "Thanks for being such devoted and supporitive fans of the series, but unfortunately, we will not further the Avatar Universe in any way. Have fun at the Comic Con and enjoy the signings and the cosplay contests!

If it was like that, I bet the whole room would get silent and then after a few seconds an angry mob forms

Let's hope for the best, and that the creators will leave us Avatards with closure... and let's hope for a creation of a spin-off or a continuation (Preferably with the same characters )

No. The specified that if they did continue the season it wouldn't revolve around the gAang. Also, they have always planned for just three books. Air wasn't included because Aang never had to learn air. The three books each symbolized the element he learned in that time period.

Do you think I'm a n00b?? I was a fan when you were still in diapers, pal!! Of course I know they planned for 3 books! Of course I know why! Of course I know the symbolism involved- but it still just seems odd to have the whole series revolving around FOUR nations, FOUR elements, and only THREE of them represented by seasons of Avatar. All I'm saying is that the series feels incomplete, and adding an Air book is the best way I can think of to complete it.

But it's not odd because the books were not based on the reason that there were four elements. They were solely based on the fact that Aang learned that element in that season. They had one purpose only. And I'll let the diapers remark slide because unlike you I wasn't trying to criticize someone. I just pointed out some facts.
Okay, but that's why I suggested an Air book kindof like "The Hobbit" of the Lord of The Rings series- a prequel or something where we see how aang grew up in the air temples or maybe how he continues to help the world after the war, ect. Oh and I love people like you who say "I'll let that comment slide", when by saying that they are not letting it slide but rather showing off how noble they are. If you really wanted to let somehing slide, then let it slide instead of responsing to it indirectly so as to look like the good guy. Anyways, sorry for the diapers comment in the first place- uncalled for and rude(albeit humorous). My bad. I'm just still shell-shocked from Avatar being gone. Sorry.
I forgive you =] We're all emotionally unbalanced now that Avatar is over, ahahaha. I swear, it's a hard thing to deal with. I had a dream that Avatar would have a spin off and then woke up. I screamed . I guess they could do the prequel, but Bryke already stated that if they do make another series that it won't focus around the gAang and it'll be about a new Avatar. They might have something like a prequel in the DVD box set.
Whoa, you actually slept last night? Lucky... I think I dozed alittle past midnight.

I'm just doing this cuz I think it's funny with all the quotes!!!

WEll taht would suck. "Avatar's over. Bring in the dancin' lobsters."

I hope they use the same characters. If you think about it, it's the characters that the fans fall in love with. Bending is cool, saving the world is epic. The Avatar concept is awsome, but what's most of the speculation about? "Will Aang do this? Will Zuko do that? How will Katara react? What will Toph think? When's Sokka gonna stop lying to himself and come out? (jk)" but seriously, we spent 3 years cheering on these characters. How heartbroken would we be if all the sudden it's "Hey this Billy-Joe and he's the new star"?

One new character is fine. Getting a whole new cast is what I don't want.

After achieving (relatively) high ratings last week, I would be surprised if the Avatar brand was not continued beyond the recently concluded story-arc (I am not referring to the live-action movies). There is an obvious demand for more Avatar, and when there is a demand for something...people(Bryke and Nick) will usually supply it.

horray for supply and demand!!! (or at least I think that's what this is. Idk, I learned it in 6th grade and naturally forgot about it.)

It is an oversimplified example of supply and demand. All I was trying to convey is that Avatar is immensely popular and Bryke has many ways to continue the Avatar brand. Honestly, if they stop the Avatar brand after 61 episodes, three mediocre video games and the live-action movies, I will be greatly surprised. They would make beaucoup money if they release a DVD of mini-episodes/hour-long movies that feature Zuko's mission to find Ursa and other such stories. If they decided to release them on television, the ratings would be huge. That is why I believe we will see more from the Avatar brand...and sooner than most people think.

I would love, love, LOVE to believe you, but Bryke has said in the Q&A in Sozin's Comet (the book) that they might work on one after the movies are over. AKA 6 years. They also said they were in the ridic. early development stages of a new series. So let's cross our fingers! By the way, SDCC was a let down. There really was no new information except the whole Ursa thing.

I never thought that they would release a new series. Like you said, it will be quite a few years until that happens. However, the mini-episodes/hour-long movies are what I am expecting. I can imagine them releasing a DVD of mini-episodes or a new movie around Christmas 09, or releasing them in the first half of 2010 to rekindle the fan's interest. If they followed that plan, they would make beaucoup money. Also, it would allow them to focus on the quality of their product and not the quantity. They would make a lot of money, pique fan interest and retain artistic integrity...it is a win-win-win. Just like Iroh knew that destiny was on their side, I know that this will happen.

Eh, I don't think that it will pique the fans' interests if they wait that long. These boards used to thrive during Season 2, but Season 3 they dwindled. Waiting too long causes fans to lose hope and therefore lose interest. Of course, we won't, but other will. Waiting until late 2009 is a horrible mistake. They should steadily keep the fans interested. Maybe a mini episode once a month. Just enough to keep the buzz going.
