That's true, Hamma did pull the Water from the plants in daylight. However, I am saying that the writers can say that for Katara, moisture bending and bloodbending can only occur under the full moon.

Maybe Katara can pull water from plants even in broad daylight, but that also conflicts with her personality since she was sorry for the flowers after Hamma pulled the water from them.

Which is why she'll probably just pull from the air.

I don't think so. She had no problem extracting the water from the plant life during her fight with Hama.

Bloodbending is a dark art they should only be used if absoluty necessary. It is a power and techniquethat should have never been discovered

Just from watching the episode, it sounds cool in theory but looks really painful and tortuous. But at the same time a good ace in the hole only if you REALLY need it. I think it'll play a role in the climax of the season (series??)

That's true. It's not that I hate Katara. I'm more into having Azula be the most powerful female non-Avatar bender. Now that Katara can pull water from anything and bloodbend, Azula's in danger. Of course, a quick lightning into a water whip can electrocute a waterbender, can it? But that's for another forum.

I think I can also post this message here: Many people say that Katara is incredibly powerful now thanks to her newly found bending techniques. However, the writers can say that Katara's new powers like pulling water from thin air & bloodbending are only available during a full moon. They can say that Katara may be a master but not high enough to do these new techniques any time of the day. The moon/Yue must have helped her during "The Puppetmaster".

Also, I think that most of the waterbenders don't learn about the Bloodbending and moisture-bending since they didn't need to know them. Waterbenders use whatever water is available, and in the North and South pole, water is everywhere. They can more easily and more readily bend the snow/ice than the water in the body. Hamma did say that she discovered that she can bend the water in the body only after being held captive in a prison with little water. In her desperation, she had to bend the water that was available to her - the water in rats and humans. Just my speculation.

I think that Katara could do it outside of a full moon if she really REALLY had to. (not that she will or won't)

Maybe. But keep in mind Azula has to concentrate momentarily to build up the energy to lightning-bend. If she did that in the middle of a battle, Katara would b!tch slap her with her water whips.

Whoa, that came out really perverted sounding.

Anyway...Ozai on the other hand doesn't have to concentrate at all. So...yeah. It might be bad if a waterbender tried to go up against him.

    BTW: Good thread to necro.

I just think bloodbending is a really good side technique of water. I mean I'm sure no one really saw that comming where we would see her bend blood...or an episode based on it. So I gotta give bryke props for the awsome rare bending! =]] I mean, yes she should only use it when necessary. and speaking of necessary use, I have this strange theory. You know how for the Katara commercial she says something like she's not gonna let aang stop the firelord alone, then you see her picking her head up (and looking like a hot mess] well I think then is the time she decides to take up bloodbending again. I am srslly thinking Aang may get hurt durring his big battle and Katara may have to slow down the pheonix king by bloodbending him...I mean don't you guys think this may be possible?

I think she uses bloodbending when she meets the Fire Nation soldier who killed her mother.

Alright here is how i believe it will happen. Katara will fight azula and she will use bloodbending. She will use it to win. The fact that it is dark or evil is irrelevant. When dealing with war winning is everything. 2nd place is death. When you posses a major advantage over the opposition you will use it for all its worth. Hey better use it and win then not use it and lose. There shouldn't be any hesitation. If there is she will fail!

Does bloodbending work on "dead" blood, too? If it does, then theres a certain time of every month that I could use this skill

When I think of bloodbending, I just imagine Katara freezing you from the inside.
