So I was thinking what could be missing from this great show. Besides more episodes, this show lacks a good number of "bad guys."

Most of the bad guys in this show are nameless Fire nation troops that get rolled over by 1-3 teenagers. Most of the major bad guys convert or disappear which gives the forces of good a decided advantage in skilled fighting.

In the finale Katara just kinda got in the way. Toph overpowered some no names, and Iroh just kinda broke a wall. Of course I could go on about the other benders and non benders, but most of them beat up no names.

IMO, the finale, and the preceeding episodes, could have been stregthened by additional skilled benders and non benders. Of course, I expect them to be brought in gradually with story development and not introduced at the end for the sake of fighting.

Dang it, I just wanted to see Toph get it on with another sweet bender. I don't think the extra fights would have degraded the value of the finale's two big fights.

    What do you think?

I think Avatar had a good cast of baddies. Long Feng, The Dai Li, Xin Fu, and Master Yu played their roles as Earthbending villains well. Long Feng and the Dai Li were corrupting the government of Ba Sing Se, and Xin Fu and Master Yu were hunting down Toph which almost worked. They even ried hunting down Zuko and Iroh. Hama was a good Waterbending villain as well. She could cause some major damage with that Bloodbending of hers. Zhao, Azula and Ozai were of course over the edge. Zhao's plan in the Season One Finale was well-thought out. Azula's partnership with the Dai Li in the Season Two Finale brought down the Earth Kingdom. Azula and Ozai shown their true colors in the Series Finale. Azula and Ozai were pretty much the only main villains left at the end.

No Doubt they had some phenomenonal characters, but at the end, we didn't have anything. It was supposed to be a great confrontation but it was pretty lopsided.

I guess it's because Azula and Ozai were only the two true villains left. Maybe if they had introduced a new character or kept Combustion Man, it could've been more interesting. Hama could've been a possibility, but she never show up. The Dai Li could've provided more depth for Toph, but Azula banished them.(Which was a stupid move, Azula!) I do agree though it was lop-sided.
