Yes, we all know that the Avatar finale was almost a perfect 10, at about a 9.9/10. But there were a couple of things that could have been better like the answer to where is Ursa and things like that.

I would have liked to see the guru guy again from the eastern air temple come back, and maybe a little more from the cabbage guy.

I smell an avatar spinoff. There are so many unanswered questions.

I wish they had given us some clue as to the future of the Air Nomads, and by extention, the Avatar.

The only thing that would have made the finale better is if it had one more episode to properly wrap everyone's arc up properly to focus more on the relations of the other nations to the Fire Nations change of heart, to see Zuko's mother, Azula's mental codition in prision if she could be reached. A number of things because after the fight it seemed rather rushed to me.

I thought the ending was EPIC but it could have been slighty better. About two months ago I made predictions about what will happen. What I know will happen, What I think will happen, and What I want to happen. Of the nine guess in the "I Know" category I missed on two one was Ozai's death (reality was way better) and we'd find out where Ursa has been (I don't know why). I wasn't so lucky in the other categories, and in these misses is why I think the ending could have been better. We never did see Toph's parents accept her for who she is, I mean how hard could it have been to have them hug and say "We're so proud of you!" and one little thing has been bugging me since S1, why does Bumi keep pointing out Momo as being 'very important part' when both him and Aang were missing when we see Bumi in The Old Masters?

I guess the movies will be about the unanswered questions from the show.

Old music would have been nice, like the opening theme. The end scene should have been Aang on the mountian like the intro.

I think they improved on one thing that made this finale epic for me...the music. Not that the previous scores were bad, they're not. But they changed it up and it had this hopeful but sad, haunting sound to it. Example, the Zuko vs Azula fight.

Also, greatest scene in almost any animated feature every? Zuko's reconciliation with Iroh...

edit: kinda weird anakinjig, I totally wasn't trying to contradict you LOL!

The only issue I had with it was the dialogue. Some of it was soooooooo cheezy it wasn't even funny (actually it was hilarious but y'now...figure of speech).

    Azula: *shoots lightning at Katara*
    Zuko: NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!1!

I know you were supposed to feel sorry for Zuko as he took the bullet for her but I couldn't help but laugh it was so cheezy.

    Ozai: Prepare to DIE!

If it wasn't for teh fact that Mark Hammil delivered the line so well it would've been such fail.

No other examples spring to mind but there were just some points where the lines were SO bad.

Don't get me wrong, the finale was still TOO AWESOME FOR WORDS.

I was perfectly fine with the new music. I thought it was spectacular. And that ending would've been waaay cooler than the sappy ending we had. (not dissing the Kataang, just could've been more exciting.)

who else was screaming when Suki came back after the air balloon that she was on crashed? My friends and I were like, "SUUUUKKKKKIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!" I'm really happy that Zuko became Fire Lord, but who expected Azula to go wacky! But I agree, the dialouge made me laugh, "NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" lol, I'm serious i was laughing. But the whole Katara frozen while moving thing was awesome. Although, i really wish Oazi had been more, viscious? Frightening? I mean he wasn't as bad as I expected him to be. But Come on, you have to admit, KATAANG WOOT!

the problem is that those things werent as important to the plot, adding all our unanswered questions would've made the finale turn away from the main idea and would've added unecessary time, because the fans are always going to have unanswered questions.

The Aang vs. Phoenix King battle could have been better to. Not that it was bad, but for the first half of it Aang was running away like a baby and the Phoenix King guy was throwing balls of fire at him. Then the Avatar walks into a rock and he goes into the Avatar State and starts chasing after the Poenix King while he runs away until he finally gets him. For me, I would have rather seen some actual punching and hitting and close up combat. The Zuko/ Azula battle couldn't have been better though.

I only wish Zuko could've delivered the final blow against Azula instead of Katara. Plus they should've shown Azula one more time in prison, or more likely a mental hospital. Honestly the whole mentally wacked out Azula was kinda hard to buy.

    - The Lion Turtle's voice could've been clear and the part about energybending should've been said when he first met Aang. Either that or the whole energy bending thing could've been scrapped altogether and Aang could've cleverly utilized knowledge we had pre-finale to make sure Ozai would never bend again, like blocking his chi in a way that cuts it off permanently, or even better; Ozai could've braught about his own death due to his own weaknesses, like an uber-version of the way Zhao burned down his own ships except more ingenius and more epic. Or Ozai could've been defeated through incapacitation inside a full bottle suit of rock and then Ozai could've gone insane like Azula and begged Aang to deliver the final blow and kill him, mentally unable to face his failure, but Aang refuses.

    - As another poster said, Ozai and Aang should've actually had a real battle instead of just chasing each other around. And Ozai was not very frightening, which he should've been.

    - Again, as another poster said; I would've preferred to see more on the stance of the other nations, particularly the opinions of the fire nation and why they seemed to have a sudden change of heart; supporting Aang and Zuko when previous they had been cheering on visions of their demises in a theater play and obviously rooting for the Fire lord. The stance of the Fire Nation military, political figures and civillians should've been properly shown along with how and why they go from revering and idolizing Ozai to being on the side of the Avatar. I would've liked to see the lingering turmoil and effects of the war addressed; Ozai loyalists, terrorists, people who don't want the war to end, etc. It could've been addressed in one or two lines and it would've been better then nothing.

    - I think Mai and Ty Lee's little character arcs were done poorly. Just because Ty Lee protects Mai from Azula it means she's all ready to be a Kyoshi warrior fighting in the name of the Avatar? And last she spoke of it; Mai saw Zuko as betraying his country and fresh out of prison that's forgotten. I think Ty Lee and Mai's stance on the war and change (if there even was any, if Mai and Ty Lee never cared about the war to begin with) should've been explained, Mai coming to understand that Zuko was not betraying but saving his country should've been shown. It's something I would've rather seen in the episode previous to the finale. That would've been cool and it's what I was hoping for. Ty Lee's random surprise joining of the Kyoshi warriors and especially their little group hug wouldn't have happened. It seemed to simple and humorous like something that'd happen in any old children's movie.

    - Speaking of the ending, as another poster suggested, the last shots being of Aang on a mountain top with his staff like in the opening with the theme playing would've been cool. There also should've been a sense of new duties or new adventure; Aang stands atop a mountain reflecting on his responsibilities and his future challenges. The story of the war with the Fire Nation and of Ozai is over, but there's an exciting and great future ahead. It didn't want a sequal set-up type ending, but I would've preferred less of a "*sigh* now all the fun is over" - type ending. A sense of inspiration and looking to the future would've been a better note to leave off on.

    - Azula should've been better incapacitated. In Day of Black Sun Toph restrained her to a wall with rock, which she broke through with ease as soon as her firebending was back on, and now she can't escape from a couple chains? I didn't understand that and I think she should've been better immobilized

    - Ursa's whereabouts and what treacherous things exactly she did should've been revealed. Toph's parents should've been resolved. And Hawky should've returns. And again, this is something I'd like to have seen done in the episode previous to the finale but something should've happened with Chit Sang. Either I would've liked to find out his stance on the war, or I would've liked him to just kinda leave and go back to the Fire Nation or something.

Those are all the things that didn't happen that are actually complaints I have about the finale. There are a couple other things that I didn't mind not happening, but it would've been cool if they did

    - It would've been epic if the Order of the White Lotus appeared as a surprise entrance into battle

    - I would've loved to see Ty Lee and Mai suddenly join up with the gang during the finale and join Sokka and Suki or Zuko and Katara in their mission

    - A little info/hints on the future of the air nomads and how they'll possibly repopulate would've been nice.

    - Aang should've used the power of the comet

Hmm. I enjoyed it far to much to ruin it by complaining about what "I would of done differently". What's done is done and its better to appreciate it for it's superbness then to scrutinize it. Just my opinion.

They left it open for the possibility of a spin off. It gives you room to imagine and be creative. Tying up every single lose end wouldn't have made it as epic IMO.
