No, it's pretty clearly raining there. That's what those streaks are over the second picture.

So any ideas on who the guy on the ground is? Good guy? Bad guy? Collateral?

Must of done something to make her angry, but then again he doesn't look very menacing.

Anyone think that maybe the motherkiller changed his ways after the incident and renounced all his bad deeds, leading to the classic "to kill or not to kill?" Just an idea I'm throwing out there so I don't necessarily support it.

I think it'd be funny if he was all like Roy Mustang and was emo about it for the rest of his life

That's a good idea. Think about it, if the dude is some horrible person are they really gonna show Katara murdering some guy in cold blood?

    Highly pausible.

I'm going to contradict my idea a little here. The magazine said the momkiller would be 1 of the 3 new villains. A reformed bad guy wouldn't really qualify as a villain. However, the mag could have just been referring to his former self we'd see in flashbacks.

So at this point...I'm not sure what to expect.

That guy killed her mother, and THAT'S why, she's looking like WTF... she must have had more control of her emotions though. Zuko looking like: Whoa.

On AvatarSpirit.net, there are those that think the guy on the ground has a scar just like Zuko. Thus meaning when Katara said she always pictured "the face of the enemy" it was always Zuko's face. Because the man who killed her mom had the exact same face as Zuko.

I thought we saw a flash back of that day already like in the Swamp or somethin, and it showed the leader of the Rough Rhinos iin the Southern Water Tribe with fire around. I'm not sure though.

good theory but you need more proof to back it up. there isnt really a lot of stuff that points to the leader of the rough rhinos. also the attack on the southern water tribe wouldnt have been led by just the rough rhinos, they've been bounty hunter-types for a while now and probably were out of the army (i say they may have once been in the army because in an episode in S2 iroh says he knew them from his time in the army) even before the attack on the southern water tribe. i'll bet that katara's father will reveal the name or image of the killer in TSR

Actually on the avatar portion of Nicks website for The Headband it mentions how Aang's teacher taught one of the Rough Rhinos. It doesn't prove he was in the army, but most of her students became soldiers. Also for the episode Avatar Day on Nick's site it also says "Mongke is the only Firebender in the group. He once served under Uncle Iroh in the Fire Nation army." So it could have been him.

Idk... its too good a theory to just disregard...

    Darn sideburns...

And there's still the other side of the face to look at.

    So maybe... maybe...

Well, if you've seen BR, you see the warden saying "Ahhh, Hadoka of the water tribe. Strong will. Not for long!"
So how would he know Hadoka and all of that?
Well, you see, I believe he was the killer of Sokka and Katara's mom.
    DUNDUNDUN!
    EPIKNESS!

Well it's logic but for some reason I wouldn't think it was him.
