Fellow Avatards:
This is the final frontier. After the hiatus ends, we are on the last leg of our bitter-sweet journey with Avata: The Last Airbenderr.
ElementAvatar, AvatarSensation, and I have created this thread to get your blood pumping for the New York Comic Convention--the beginning of the end.
It's been a hell of a ride, with almost more waiting than actual watching. But this is the last time we are made to wait for so long a period. After this, it's over.
Here we have the first look we were given at our beloved Avatar. We didn't know it just yet, but soon the Avatards would be born.
And we've never looked back since.
We've eagerly hoarded the tidbits Nick allowed themselves to be bothered to show us...
The Only Extended Promotion Our Show Has Gotten From Nick's Network
... have witnessed the disturbingly awesome and crazy from our more desperate comrades...
Funnily enough, we still don't know if any of this will come to pass
Just Think of This As What Most Avatards Would Do Upon Meeting a Head Honcho at Nick
The Mustache State--it is Legend!
And Just To Be Fair Since We Want No Ship Battle to Break Out
...and stumbled upon the just plain epic which took our breath away and renewed our fervor.
Coming to a TV Near You (Or So We Were Told)
We're sure most of the members on the forum at this point have been here for most of the long haul. So far, we've waited for over four months for the rest of Season 3 to be aired. Believe it or not, this hasn't been the worst of the torment Nickelodeon has put us through. We once had enough time between Seasons 2 and 3 to create a new life. Lisa was driven by despair to coin the still much-used term AWS (Avatar Withdrawal Symptoms) and we had all but given up hope.
But, God, do you remember the day the Official Season 3 Promotional Trailer was shown?
We do.
July 28, 2007, scores of us scrambled to the Internet to huddle around our computer screens. It was a cell-phone video captured with a shaky hand and crackly, muffled sound. A sea of heads lined the bottom of the projection screen while people screamed and clapped and gasped during the different clips. It's probably one of the poorest quality recordings out there.
But it was one of the most beautiful things we Avatards had seen in nine excruciatingly long months.
Now, an event like that is coming one final time: April 18 & 19, 2008.
Time to get excited.
Are you prepared?
In the words of ElementAvatar, "Give us airdates, or give us death!"
We also want to give a HUGE thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Mike and Bryan, creators of Avatar and consequently many a ecstatically happy Friday for us all. We friggin love you guys.
Viva Avatar!
