Hi I posted this onthe discussion thread of Lake Laogai, but I feel it needs its own thread.?? So yeah, where is the message? It's seriously driving me crazy.?? The message that the guru tied to appa's horn in "Appa's Lost Days" Is nowhere to be found in "Lake Laogai."

I noticed on the notes section that it says that the four episodes before Lake Laogai were unplanned. Does that mean we have a plothole on our hands? What happened to the message, the Earth Kingdom steal it? Appa drop it? Animator's forget to add it?... uh oh!

maybe, but dont forget that Zuko could have it also... he could be fooling Iroh by pretending he lets go of capturing the avatar, when he actually is trying to catch him at the Eastern (was it east?) Air Temple.

both would make a great story

theres just one problem to my theory... why would Aang go to the eastern air temple if he didnt get the message to go there? maybe Zuko hopes to get more info by going to the monk whos waiting for Aang there. this would make sence considering that Zuko always does things without thinking about it first...

Appa could guide Aang to the air temple.

only if Appa is intelligent enough to understand the importance of going there, which i dont think so. u could be right though. to be honest i also thought about this option, but i dont think itll happen. Appa cant deside all by himself where they should go, Aang or his friends do...

we've been led to believe that appa is extremely intelligent, or at least extremely loyal, him and aang have a connection, so maybe appa will communicate to him somehow that they need to go to the eastern air temple, or wherever it is that the guru wants them to meet.

Zuko didnt have the message, when was appa in the room and zuko was freeing him, there wasnt a message on his horn, the dai lee definately have it, if its not a plothole that is, that would be disapointing

    hmmm... OK.

lets say the dai lee have it (which ill believe on ur word ). these people want Aang AND Appa. This probably means that they'll be waiting for him at the eastern air temple, ofcourse after taking the guru to their underwater prison and hear what he got to say.

I doubt it'll be a plot hole. Most likely, Long Feng has it and that'll be what they fight over in "The Earth King".

thats true,??and Appa certainly knows how to get back to the temple. but its still up to Appa (if he understands the importance of going back to the air temple) and Aang (for understanding Appa and agree to let him fly, wherever he wants to go).

Ok, The Dai Lee may have the note but think about these facts.

    1. Aang said in the Southern Air Temple episode that you need a bison or be able to fly to get to the temples. The only ones that were able to get to the temples other than airbenders were the firenation because they had the machines that climbed walls. Granted that Earthbenders can climb to the top by earth bending but I think they would get tired after a while. They do have limitations on their chi.
    2. Appa can take Aang to the temple because he is suppose to be his animal guide like they pointed out earlier. Appa didn't like the Guru at first because he had a lot of turmoil inside of him but the Guru helped him with that.
    3. As for the note it may be lost, it could be with the Dai Lee, and it could just be something that they left out and might be in the next episode. I mean they did not show a full 360 degree of Appa's right horn.

    We'll see what happens.

Well they have not led us to his next steps. Where does he go after he warns the Earth King? So I think his visit to the Guru will play to that effect.

ok, but you cant miss such a message on one of the horns... i mean, the message is not really small of something. ill stick to my story, i believe that the earth benders can climb all the way up to the air temple... maybe u didnt notice it, but when the FN attacked the temple, they only had to climb the mountain with machines like 50% of the way. after that they could follow the path that was made (probably by the air nomads themselfs a long time ago).
this way it wont take that much trouble to climb all the way to the temple...

ow, and another thing: they can climb earth walls without falling down (just watch the last part of lake laogai, where they surrounded Aang and his friends).

I think Aang might have just been bein naive, and also (if I remember correctly) the Eastern Air Temple is on a large high plateau surrounded by water, so all the Dai Li would have to do is come in boats and bend themselves straight up. I definatly think an Eartbender could get there.

Besides, the Guru got there, and I didnt see him with any flying bisons, so there must be a way up there. We'll see when it airs how this plays out with the note. Id be very surprised if the writers forgot about it, they seem to be good about not leavin big plotholes

Noooooooooooo, don't take this wrong way but YOU'RE ALL WRONG ( in a way).
If you have the epi on your PC or even you could check it on Youtube, watch the part when Lon Feng is scrolling Ju Dee after he's finished with her he turns to the fireplace and THERE he's holding a parchemint while saying that they mitght be able to " handle this (the avatar making trouble in the city) quietly ".
It is clear that they would have black-mailed him with the note if he kept looking for Appa but the gaang was to fast and found Apppa before they got the chance to (black-mail them).
I'm sure that the note will appear again in "The Earth King" and Lon Feng will be the one to have it (at the beginning of course).

Ok i'm done now, you can start pitching the rocks at me *puts on helment*.
