On Nick's Avatar site, in the little summary for "Appa's Lost Days," they say that the Guru is 150 years old . I quote: "Built high atop a mountain, this??[the Eastern Air Temple]??was the home to the Airbending Sisters (see above). It's been empty for about 100 years, save the 150-year-old Guru who recently moved in." I knew he was old but I didn't think he was a century and a half Now that we know his age (unless Nick's lying ) this leaves a lot more theories to spring up.

You can check by going here: http://www.nick.com/all_nick/tv_supersites/avatar2/. Click on the "Appa's Lost Days" dot on the map, then click on "New Locations" and then "The Eastern Air Temple" pic.

If memory serves... and I'm rushing because I gotta go grocery shopping now... the Guru said something to Appa in that same episode about waiting for Aang for a long time.?? It was something along the the lines of receiving a message to meet Aang at the Eastern Air Temple (which I'm gonna assume was something sent by the Monks who wanted to send him there) but then Aang never showed up.

Again, rushing sorry... but gotta go get some shopping done, be back later!

The Guru said he had a vision that he was sapose to meet Aang there not a note, and i think he will teach Aang more air bending if he's 150, because in the The Storm it said Aang hadn't mastered Air bending.

The arrows do mean he mastered airbending; they're tattoos that signify he has mastered the element. That's why in The Storm, all of the other kids he was playing with didn't have them.

And yeah, regarding the Guru, I read about that. Apparently, people??who are very spiritual live longer, like Avatar Roku.

I'm a bit wary to trust Nick's site. I mean, they said the Earht King had more than one wife. That may be very well true, but I think it's unlikely for Nick. I know that people in the Avatar world live long, but 150 seems like a streatch, even for this show. I'll takes Nick's word for it for now...

He he has the airrows becasue he masted airbending then why don't any of the air masters, or other old avatars have them?

I was aslo thinking he was the guy that was waiting for aang a long time ago if he is still alive then maybe there are more airbenders.

the other avatars don't have the arrows because air wasn't their native element. and the other master airbenders do have arrows on their heads. It's not very clear in this pic but they have them:

Multiple wives for the king maybe a bit of a touchy subject for some, but I don't think its inappropiate. I think is good that people are learning about the culture of ancient days, where its highly common for a man to take lots of wives.

I didn't say it was inappropriate, I said it was unlikely for Nick, and I was using that as basis for my other point (assuming that he actually doesn't have lots of wives )

Mormons aren't even allowed to have more than one wife now, though. So, yes, it is a controversial thing, and I doubt Nick would allow them to touch on it.

The Guru isn't a bender, I don't think. But Gurus teach Avatars. It's a fact. I think the Guru just remembers stances and will teach Aang the non-elemental side to being an Avatar.
