I couldnt find anything on this so I'll just post it. We all know that the firelord of years past created a comet that would give the fire nation unbelievable power. I've been thinking, can this be done in the other nations as well? I don't know if any of you have ever heard of the 100 years storm, but the idea is that every 100 years, mother nature puts people in their place by unleashing an unfathomably powerful storm. Could this be the water nation's answer to the comet? Also, have we ever seen water benders fight in the rain, and what??powers do you all think would be made possible by such weather?

They didn't create it, it was just a comet. It wasn't artifical, although it did increase their power. Just like how the sun increases their power as well, even though they obviously didn't make the sun.
Also, the 100 year storm idea sounds cool, but personally I don't believe it exists in real life. Also, I've noticed that the power increasing things in AtLA tend to be celestial bodies, such as the sun, moon, and of course the comet.

Does anyone else get bugged that it should be a meteor? If it's a comet, that should support waterbenders as comets are made of ice. And a meteor passing over the earth miiiiight actually sway gravitational pulls, making it seem like a boon to Earthbenders. What does a comet have to do with FIEQE@QE#@RQ?~!?~!?@!!@!

That's just a case of the Avatar creators doing what they want...but (and if you haven't noticed I like going off the wall) what if the comet serves another purpose? the Moon spirit has a direct connection with Waterbenders(when Zhao killed it they couldn't bend), what if the Sun spirit was evil but and was banished from the Earth years ago???encase??the Sun??Spirit in ice and rock(what comets are made of) which could weaken it, and use Water and Earthbending to launch it into the space(Avatar's are powerful benders it's possible, especially in a world where laws of physics??are be broken/changed daily)...the Firebenders can still Firebend and the world is in perfect balance(minus the evil??Sun Spirit)...but Sozin somehow finds out he can harness the power from??the Sun??Spirit(since it's so close) and boom war starts...btw I just made this up on the spot? what do ya think?

If that was true, there wouldn't be a real sun. I dunno, maybe there used to be two suns before your legend.
