After the invasion of Europe, the Allies decided to implement their boldest plan yet: Operation market Garden. Led by the famous and charismatic General Montgomery, the plan called to overtake the bridges connecting German-occupied Belgium and the Rhine for a swift, deadly thrust into the axis. The allies??? victory soon became quick lived when they suffered many losses at Arnhem, and failed to take it. The allies suffered over 17,000 casualties in the ensuing battles??? ???I think we may be going a bridge too far???.???
