Where was that second pic from...location wise?

I would like to know the location as well, but that part is apart of the opening credits, so who knows. Possibly around one of the Air Temples, cause when they shown the Water, Earth and Firebenders they were each in their respective homeland.

I watch the episode "The library" again and was wondering if there was more that picture they saw, It seem that even little things in this show are important but this might be a bit of a stretch. I guess you won't know what I am talking about if you have not seen that episode recently.

This guy made an excellent observation way back...

True, but I had a feeling it would come around. I mean if it wasn't in the ending I am sure no one would have gave those things a second look. But the way it has been featured in the series is nice. Since it shows they had somewhat of a continuity to follow.

Its not healthy to use tvtropes.org-ishy in conversation.

the term "chekhov's gun" is common knowledge, yo.

...I dunno what it means... >_>

A famous playwright named Chekov once said that "If a gun is hanging on the mantle in the first act, it had better be fired by the last act." (rough, rough quote)

Chekov said that somewhere in the late 1880's, so yeah it's been around before TV Tropes.

Still in all, even though we saw him proverbially hanging on the mantle before his appearence, the turtle-lion still feels kind of like it came out from left-field. I'd be interested in knowing more about the world "before they bended elements", tho.

Yeah it would be interesting. I wonder if that figure in the screen shot I posted was someone from way back then.

Personally, I don't think its an Avatar in that picture. That Lion-Turlte sounded like it had witnessed the world before the Avatar was there. There were probably a lot of Lion-Turtles in the Ancient times, but theres only that one left.

Also, that area in the drawing looks like the area from the End-credits, with with the misty mountains and stuff. Maybe for the entire series, we've unknowingly seen the Lion-Turle's Habitat. Obviously, they have some spiritual signifigance for the World, and this show in general.

in the episode "Sokka's Master" the swords master/Piandao says: "Sokka, when you first arrived, you were so unsure. You even seemed down on yourself. But I saw something in you right away. I saw a heart as strong as a lion turtle, and twice as big".

Also in this episode there are small lion turtle statues in Piandao's rock garden. It's shown when Sokka is sparing with a unnamed guy.
