Speculation gone wrong

    Ok so I was testing the forum search button below, just to see if it was working because everyone seems to be making duplicate threads when
    they could just use the search tool. Anyways I was looking at some old threads
    and it occurred to me that we are pitifully bad at projecting what???s going to
    happen in this show.

    I tallied it up and here what I got;

    How many theories turned out wrong: 3,845,391

    How many theories turned out right: -2

    I might be wrong on that its just speculation. So I
    seriously want everyone to say what theories you had that turned out wrong, and
    think about why you were so wrong. And if you had any that turned out right, why
    was your right?

    Here are 2 theories I had that turned out horribly wrong:
    1)The girl seen in the swamp was an airbender: turn out to be
    toph, the fly boar thing sort of miss lead me, my bad.
    2)The beginning sequence silhouette the benders that would
    teach aang: yeah sorry.
    3)Azula is gay still holding out on that one.

    I don't believe in blogs (they don't exist, just people yamering about them selves to the wall) I'm asking others to responed.

    math skills would be useful. Nqtice how there are 3 theories there.

    yeah and only 2 of them have been proven wrong. Why is no one willing to admit they were wrong?

    i know i was wrong plenty of times but i can't remember them (at least not now) and this thread is, well....i can't think of a word

    Here's one:

    Everyone was looking forward to the appeareances of Jojo, Kinto, Malu and Afiko in the beginning of?? season 2, and now it looks as though they will never appear.

    whiteforest, if it makes you feel better I though zuko might be gay but now it just seems like he is confused.

    Well we don't know if we will see them in the 3rd season, anyways if you want to remember previous mistakes just go back sever hundred threads on the forum. I get this feeling that people are over thinking and over analyzing things and thus coming up with false predictions.

    it's highly unlikly, since we'll be going to the Fire Nation in season 3.

    I've right??a couple times??with my speculations...I said that the Jet/ Zuko fight would end with someone going to jail...I also said that before the season ended??Azula would be humilated...and I said that in a fight Azula would almost kill Aang...

    Same here. But come on don't be like that, I've seen a couple that turned out to be right. I mean -2? A 2 would've sufficed.

    The second one has been true so far...the earthbender in the intro was Toph's original design, and Pakku was his waterbending teacher, so only one more to go... even though Azula teaching Aang is just about impossible.

    Look this is the second problem, speculation without evidence, things stated as fact without proof: piranhapete show or tell us how you know that?

    uuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmm......... the EB in the beginning was proven 2 be toph's original sketch. let's see............ we have someone that looks like Pakku, and the proven toph. Aang is a master, so there would be no reason fo an airbender teacher.

    ??and i just realized that??his teachers have all been female or old men

    Indeed, given that she's totally evil...though if the writers could manage it...it'd be a wonderful twist for exactly that reason.

    Maybe she'd train Aang because she'd be Queen after he got rid of Ozai?

    O-o Does your bed even have a right side for you to wake up on? Anyway... Pooldude, the editor and moderator, has inside sources to the show and heard it from them. At first I didn't think that the earthbender was the male Toph, so when I saw that that's what it said under the Blind Bandit notes, I tried to have it deleted, saying that it was overly presumptious. However, pooldude responded that he knows from the aforesaid sources that it really is the male Toph, so now that's what I believe.

    piranhapete, all you had to say was inside sources said this, gee. Now is there anymore information about the orginal male toph design? And still we were technically wrong about it if they writers changed their minds.

    Legitimate question, I'll give ya proof! *cracks knuckles*?? Or at least I'll answer this as best I can, since I was involved...

    Many months??ago (after the season 1 finale but well before the season 2 premiere) I was looking up stuff on martial arts and I??happened across an article??in kungfumagazine.com.??It mentioned Avatar and praised the show for its authentic portrayal of martial arts.?? It then went on to say something about the martials arts consultants who had been brought in, and it mentioned that an additional consultant was being brought in for season 2 for a character named Tof (the mag's spelling).?? However, it described Tof as "a general with an earthbending style all his own."????

    I think that Pooldude has since confirmed that the guy in the opening was Toph's first incarnation through his contact who works on the show, but I'm not totally sure.

    And I admit... I've been wrong about ALMOST every prediction I've made!?? The only one I really got right was that I, too thought that someone would get arrested after the Jet/Zuko fight.?? I still blush over my pre-Avatar Day post that said something like "I don't know how Zuko and Iroh will split up, but I'm sure??that Zuko would never just decide to split and leave his uncle alone in the middle of nowhere."?? *smacks head*
