Sokka, damsel in distress?

    Is it just me, or does Sokka get into trouble a lot? He tends to get rescued on a regular basis, and if anyone is falling/getting pulled off of Appa's back, it's him. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, just an interesting observation. I thought it was pretty funny that the oldest (manliest?) guy in the group is the one who is in peril most often. And I thought it would be fun to discuss. (ps, I'm new here so if I've done anything silly, I'm sorry. ^^')

    Yea, I noticed that too! He's also the "manliest man". He wears make-up, a dress, cries, had a matching bag and belt, and yea the damsel in distress. Good times, good times.

    No, more so he's the only member of the group who has to think about attack strategies more. Katara is the one who "uses her brains" most. Sokka and Aang generally want to rush head first into things, where as Katara is like "Hey, wait, we can't." because of some very detailed explanation. Sokka is more down to earth, where as Aang is out living his destiny and Katara living her dream of being a skilled water bender.

    Well Sokka has to play the part of the "Every man" and comic relief??so that entails going through the crapper in just about any situation...to quote a Tupac song "that's just the way it is..."

    Haha! Yeah, I would probably agree with that. Sokka's like a mesh. He's the down-to-earth smart guy, comic relief, damsel in distress, and a strong warrior all in one.

    I actually think that they all tend to think about things at different times.?? Here are some examples:
    The Deserter: Sokka was telling them that it is crazy to go to the fire festival when they have wanted posters for Aang.?? Katara seemed to be ok with it.
    The Drill: Sokka came up with the plan to cut the supports.?? Aang remembered that they could weaken it instead of trying to cut all the way through.
    Katara doesn't always think things through.?? She stole from the pirates thinking they would not notice.??

    These are just a few examples.?? So they are all thinking and doing stupid mistakes.?? They are just kids and not perfect.

    i 100% agree. he also has 2 alive girlfriends: Suki and Ty Lee. it would be 3, but yue's dead, so...... only 2. for now.

    He's the comic releif of the show, but far from damsel in distress. He's a pretty good fighter and has a fericoius streak of luck. Not to mention he's probably the smartest member of the team as he comes up with all the plans. It's just his stubborness and machoism that gets him into trouble.
