Sokka and Cloud parallel

    I have noticed a parallel between Sokka and Cloud from Final Fantasy VII. They both had girl friends that had mystical backgrounds.Yue had part of the moon spirit and Aerith from Final Fantasy was an ancient. Both of their girl friends died, when they were supposed to be protected by them. Both guys now blame themselves for not protecting them and are haunted by this. Both guys see their girl friends in visions.

    There are definitely differences in both but I think it is interesting that they both had this odd parallel.

    Well, some shows have that. No matter how original characters are created, that doesn't mean that sometimes they won't match up a few traits with others.

    And who knows? Maybe the creators like cloud.

    I don't really see the parallel. Sokka got over his tragedy where as Cloud just went on and on about it.

    No because Sokka says in the Swamp that he thinks of her a lot.
    and in the swamp she blamed him. meaning he thinks a lot about her blaming him. Also on the Serpent's Pass he doses not want to be kissed in front of the moon.

    Nah. I think that Suki/living his life has helped him move on. Cloud might be stronger physically, but Sokka definetely tops him emotionally.

    I wounder what would to happen Sokka if Suki is dead. Which is what I think is the case.

    Sure Sokka thinks about her. But it doesn't seem to effect him in anyway. He just kept on going knowing that he will have to try harder to save the people he loves.

    I guess I will put it like it has been said before.
    If Suki is dead/crippled and Sokka finds out it will really mess with him, but I don't think he will ever be the emotional/mental train wreck that Cloud was.

    Yeah. Sokka is hurt inside but has bravery and courage to go on.

    Sokka did try to over protect Suki. And Toph hates to be protected like a baby. I wounder will happen next season son if tokka happens because of Suki's probable death.

    Well, much as I love Tokka (GO TOKKA!!!!!!!!!!!!) I dont think it will happen regardless. While i think Sokka protects her alot, its not for romantical issues. And even if something happens where he and Suki can't be together, i dont think that it will result in Tokka happening.

    *sighs*

    How i wish it were different...

    But if Tokka does happen and I know it will. Sokka(and this is were my topic comes back) may be such a emotional wreck that he starts to over protect Toph or leave the group like Cloud(it could happen). Then what will happen to Tokka.

    Sorry about this because I'm just going to randomly just into this conversation. I doubt Tokka will happen. I don't know why everyone thinks that just because they have boy/girl friends and equal pairings, everyone has to like each other. Guys can have girls that are friends and not have feelings for her and vice versa. Not everyone finds love in their friends, they usually want to keep it at a friendship level. Sorry, and carry on. (Mostly because I have no idea who Cloud is so I will not comment on that topic.)
