    Firstly, King Bumi (the guy in the coffin in Omashu) is an Earthbender and wishes to remain in Omashu until he can devise a plan to destroy the ruling Fire Nation from the inside.
    Secondly, bending lightning is something only a few Firebending Masters can accomplish. Aang may not even be able to bend lightning (unlikely as he is the Avatar), even if Aang can bend lightning, he wouldn't be able to unless he learned Firebending.
    As for the COMET (not comment), the comet will arive at summer's end and grant the Fire Nation unbelievable power that will assure their victory in the war.
    The gaang had planned to help the Ek invade the Fire Nation when the SOLAR ECLIPSE happened in a few months. But since Azula is now in control of Ba Sing Se and knows of the plan, that idea is down the drain. The gaang have no reinforcements, are on the run, and the last stronghold of the Earth Kingdom is gone. So far, there is no way for them to use the solar eclipse to their advantage against the Fire Nation.

    Hummmm....It seems the Gaang's plan has back fired at them. They have no support. They do have the Earth King with them, but he's just about as useful as a house with no roof. They could get them help of General Fong (in the "Avatar State")

    I hope they do bring back that general, he's one of my favourite non-main characters. I really feel for him. I can understand that he was just trying to end the war as quickly as possible so that no more people get hurt. He's not the bad guy. I would have done the same thing if I was in his position.

    True, since earthbending is his opposite element.

    I wonder how they'll stretch a summer's timeline into a whole season...

    I say that's because Aang is too soft, it has nothing to do with his fighting skills he just doesn't have what it takes to match up with the lethality(is that a word?) of the Fire Nation yet. Hopefully, this gets fixed or Aang will be wiped out before he makes it through the Fire Nation jungle(they have em just check the official site)

    Lethality, don't think so? About Aang, I'm not sure. Both Zuko and Azula are older and more expierenced then him.

    Or it could happen like with the Kyoshi avatar where she made it possible that killing the other guy was because of a "natural" landslide and let the earth crumble rather than her actually killing him.
