sneaking around in the Fire Nation

    An interesting thought came to mind recently.?? Durring book 1 2 the Gaang has had no real reason to hide their identity as the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribe are allies in the war against the Fire Nation.?? They are freqently welcomed with honor into any town and never really have any big problems with the locals (discounting that crazy place in Avatar Day)

    But what happens when they reach the Fire Nation??? The creators have said that everything in the Fire Nation is a big propaganda machine to keep up support for the Fire Lord and the war.?? Everything is in the nations colors, red and black.?? I would think Katara and Sokka with their blue outfits and Toph with her green would sort of stand out like a sore thumb.?? How else would they be able to fit in unless they adopted some traditional fire nation clothing??? Even an outfit change of course wouldn't completly hide their identities as Zuko's scar and Aangs arrow are also also big hints.?? On top of that, Appa would also be a huge target and would again only serve to attract a huge fire nation force wherever they went.

    So unless they really do have the backup of a large Earth Kingdom/Water Tribe army slowly moving into the Fire Nation (I doubt it, the eclipse would only last for 1 day and would not provide enough time to completly turn the tide of the war...not only that but I can't picture the Gaang staying with this huge army the entire season, they will have to interact with fire nation citizens at some point) how might they be able to sneak around?

    Well, Iroh has some connections and could hide everyone for a while. Remember the whole Lotus tile thing that made it capable to Iroh ad Zuko get to Ba Seng Se. I'm sure there are people in the Fire Nation who are not for the war and would help if given the chance. And there's always hiding and changing attire from open eyes. That might be why it was said everyone gets a new look in season 3. They have to blend in. Maybe Aang grows his hair out or uses Appa's fur to cover up his arrow. And I'm pretty sure Zuko loses his scar in the season finale so that's less obvious. Iroh looks like an old beggar and Sokka, Katara, and Toph just need a change in wardrobe since they're not as known as Aang or Zuko. I doubt Appa will be able to go with them into any cities or villages since he's VERY obvious.

    thats tru, but i dont think people will pay attention to those kinda things... also i think that there will be a pretty big amount of people who actually want the war to stop. being FN doesnt always mean that ur evil, so if people would know whats REALLY going on in the world, they might even HELP the gaang

    Meh they?? could use eye dye or contacts to change their eye color and it'll be easy to get a new wardrobe for everyone just beat up a soldier take his cloths or steal them from citizens in occupied cities. So getting the Fire nation look will be easy but I dunno by getting in the Fire Nation.

    They'll have to leave Appa behind...nothing screams "I'm the Avatar" more??then if you're walking around with a 10 ton six legged flying bison...I'm sure the Earth King wouldn't mind watching over Appa...and also the Squad would need someone who's familiar with the Fire Nation to help them or they could get lost since the Fire Nation has taken care not to have any proper maps of their area...I'm still against Zuko joining the Squad, but perhaps another Firebender could join the group...maybe someone who has a reason to end the Fire Nation war and stop the senseless killing...

    I still think Zuko will jion the gaang but at the same time I can't picture Iron walking around with a bunch of teens...I wonder if they'll kill him off...SORRY I got lost in thought there

    I love the idea of them living in plain site in the fire nation, I zuko and iroh are doing it in ba sing se, so of course its possible for aang and the group to live in plain site in the fire nation. I wonder what the nation looks like. I'm imagining a new york city type of vibe lol i mean the fire nation is very industrialized. Plus so far we've had a birthday cake (omashu), we've had LA (Ba Sing Se) now we need a NYC, why not the fire nation :]]

    There are just so many different idea's out there for what they'll look like, and how the plot will unfold... ahhhh! idk brain overload! :]]

    I just hope we get to see a flash preview of the third season and what they'll look like at the end of the season two finale!

    I've mentioned the eyes before but seems like nobody pays attention to that OR the clothing.?? Water tribes have those blue yes and blue uniforms YET in Imprisoned the guards arrested Katara for earth bending ????

    How about those orange eyes of those Fire Benders.... one look at??Azula's, Zuko's or Iroh's eyes gives them away as a fire bender in a heart beat.?? Same goes for the green eyes and green outfits of Earth Benders....??

    I think the yellow eyes aren't such a problem. since they could be consedered a lighter brown. As for the clothes, in the island of Kyoshi they use clothes quite similar to Katara's and Sokka. See?
