Well, if Suki and Ty Lee are into it, I'm sure Sokka would be happy to watch...

I KNEW IT! When season??1, episode 10: "Jet" first premiered I thought Smeller Bee was a girl, and all of my friends called me a lunatic.??-_-;; I don't think she's a cross-dresser or anything though, I think she's just a major tomboy who's not into make-up and stuff...because, I mean, think of the time-period Avatar is set, not many girls wear pants in this show ya know? They mainly have dresses and robes on...so Smeller Bee might be considered to be weird because of that. Either that or she is a girl trying to be a boy. x3

Yup! No one can say that Avatar doesn't deal with real world issues: we have a blind girl, a disabled boy(Teo), two mutes(Longshot and the new mother's sister), and a girl acting as a boy.

Hey, I didn't know the new mother's sister was a mute. Now that you point that out, I guess it makes sense since she didn't talk once the whole time. But I'm still not sure, since the show didn't really specify that. I mean I know Longshot is a mute because he's been in two??three and hasn't talked. I don't know, maybe she is a mute.

Homosexual women in anime always seem to be really erotic. That's why I don't like lesbian characters much even though I'm a guy. So basically lesbians should stick to hentai. And Smellerbee is no lesbian.

    Ha, that's cool! XD

I didn't even know Smellerbee's name when I saw Jet.?? I just thought she was a random boy.

But, then, I finally figured it out.??

Now all we need is a man who looks like a woman and were set. I just loved the openley Gay Honjo in Rorouni Kenshin. Thiers other characters Like Haku, Envy, Rolan??and Luppi who are also quite gay Damn why do the Japanese cartoons love androgonimous characters so damn much.
I still think Haku is a girl. *____* But yes, having a gay would be funny.

Uh, no Haku IS a guy.

I thought the fat guy in pink (ep. The Cave of Two Lovers) was probably gay

    1. The scene with Smellerbee bothered me.

It felt too . . . "moralizing" or preachy . . . like the only reason the scene was there was to "make a point."

That's what bothered me about it.

    2. But yes, Smellerbee is a tomboy, not a cross-dresser. She's not trying to be a boy; if she were, would she get offended at Iroh thinking she was?

    3. Moku was not gay He was a hippie.

They are not going to put a gay on the show . . . thank goodness . . .

I don't know... they COULD put a gay person on the show but not make a big deal out of it.

(Mr. Simmons from Hey Arnold! is what I'm talking about...)

Well, I'm just pulling this out of nowhere, but the whole "Smellerbee is a girl pretending to be a boy" theory is because she is voiced by Nika Futterman.
