| I think the only fillers were Cave of Two Lovers, half of Avatar Day, Tales of Ba Sing Se, and Appa's Lost Days. Last season had Warriors of Kyoshi, King of Omashu, Jet, Great Divide, Fortuneteller, and Northern Air Temple (I'm counting ones that has character who did not get importance until those characters appeared in Season 2). I'd say Season 2 had less fillers. |

| I think this season was better than last season in that it both had less filler episodes and had episodes that gave characters from last season (Bumi, Jet, Suki) some importance. Last season had Imprisoned, The Great Divide, and The Northern Air Temple among others. In Season 2, nearly every episode had something to contribute to the story (possible exceptions include The Tales of Ba Sing Se and Appa's Lost Days). Another thing was that there were more continuing antagonists. Last season had Zuko and Zhou, but this season had three characters/groups. You had Master Yu and Xin Fu for three episodes (not counting their first one), though they were mainly comic relief. You had Long Feng, who did not appear very often, but one could still feel his presense in the city. Last, you have Azula and her two friends, who appeared the most often (nine episodes if you count Zuko Alone). She is infinitely the most cruel, empty-hearted, vicious, etc. person on the show (not even Long Feng deserved that shut-out from last night). |
Season 2??was so much more intense than Season 1, which seem more like a warm up. Season 2 had a better storyline involving more mature and psychological stuff, like in Zuko Alone. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the last episode (The Crossroads of Destiny) wasn't liked that much by Avatar fans who want a happy ending.
Well me... I think that happy endings are over-rated,??I'm more into struggling,??peril but maybe some kind of happy ending at the end of the entire show.
The finales were very different, but both golden in their own ways!
Siege of the North had lots of action, the spirit world, antagonist death, and a wrap-up of the seasons, a view into Zuko's life, foreshadowing for Azula. Oh, and a bit of romance for Sokka. Followed by death of course. ??It wrapped everything up.
Crossroads of Destiny was unpredictable, and uncliched.?? It had a kind of rushed last battle scene, but it was worth it.?? It had Zuko's descision, Toph metalbending, a Zutara moment, then Zutara and Kataang ships being simultaneously destroyed! WOO! *ahem*?? The battle was purely epic, and a character being shot down while powering up? A refreshing thing I havn't seen in a long time. Normally the characters sit and stare. It ended with a??cliffhanger, and a burning want for the new season.??
Both were excellent, however.

*Agrees* Burning want, I like it.
