Before anyone automatically flames me, let me explain. The good far outweighed the bad but there were some horrible scenes that occured and it's all thanks to Katara. Ok, first of all, we don't get to finally see Hokado in action AND Aang finally mastering The Avatar State thanks to Katara and her 'damsel in distress' scne. I should have expected such a cliched character to do something like this but she really ruined a lot of potential greatness in this show. I mean come on. She tried to stop the FN's coup with....drinking water??!! And then the scene underground with Zuko. It's so sickly bad. Katara says the FN does so much bad and how much she hates Zuko but...after only a few words from Zuko, she know acts nice to him. That was just terrible. You don't just become friends with your most hated enemy out of the blue. That's the big flaw with Katara's personality and why I hate her so much. She's way too positive that it's sickening. Last, that corny as it gets line she had just makes me change the channel everytime I see it. You know, the one where Momo jumps on the generals map of the world and then she says 'We can just get Mom to do some damge to the Fire Nation. Hehahaha' Worst line in Avatar history!!!

Big Katara hater, huh? Well, it's not really her fault Azula was there to cause trouble. Katara is a very caring person, and since Zuko wasn't showing any animosity towards her at that point, I think she was feeling bad for him. As far as the corny line... I thought it was funny. It sounded like something Aang would say, right??? I'm a Kataanger by the way.

The Katara-Zuko thing seemed a bit forced, I agree. She is too idolized.

I disagree with 1, personally, because that's part of who Aang is, how much he loves this girl. But this girl isn't perfect, and she needs to make some mistake. She needs to doubt herself, just a second time.

I have a similar gripe with Sokka.

I personally disagree, the season finale was amazing!! Katara is now one of my favourite characters, she just keeps on getting dissapointed by everyone, but he knows her duty, she will fight on! Although I can't "flame" at you, cause everyone is entitled to their own opinon. I think the finale was very well done, I have absolutely no regrets, and I wouldn't have changed anything.

2nd sheesh man wtf? i though u were gonna say zuko's crap, or that azula is hecka sick instead u gonna diss on a character whos got mad skills. i think your wrong, i mean if the reason the season finale sucked is cause zuko did all the crap with people saying hes changed and then he just became his old self again and listened to his crazy cool but evil sister.

There's not much??time in a season finale to waste on developing minor characters; the major characters deserve the action.

That was hardly her fault, and in Iroh's POV and mine, embracing human instincts and feelings of love and compassion over Nirvana is the better choice.

So basically, you want Katara to be a Marysue who always does everything right, and that there's always a magic pool of water next to her so she doesn't have to use "drinking water" (which, btw, she carried with her so she can WATERBEND, she just happens to help her friends who are dying of thirst in the desert with is)? Yes, wouldn't that be wonderful? I'm sure everyone would just love that. (~_~ btw, that was sarcasm... tone is rather hard to type on a computer)

But seriously, Katara is not as bad as you make her out to be. Of course she uses water to fight! She is a waterbender, and she can't change that.

Also, we don't know how long she and Zuko talked in the cave. We missed their entire conversation about Zuko's mother (yes, it's true. it went from "that's something we have in common" to "i had no idea" [or something like that]), so you cannot say that she trusted him after five minutes of talking. (And she never truely trusted him anyways, she just thought that maybe he wasn't as bad as she had thought.) Oh, and the Air Temple was rather far from Ba Sing Sae (sp?), so that also shows that a bit of time had passed.

Finally, I though that line that she said about Momo was rather funny. She was the only kid there, so she must have been bored without Sokka or Aang to make stupid jokes. Do you hate them whenever they say something like that (and yes, they have both made similar comments in the past)? She's only fourteen. Give her a break.

I understand that you are entitled to your opinion, but don't take it out on Katara when an episode doesn't end exactly how you want it. If every episode always happened how you expected it to, Avatar would be a pretty boring show, eh?

So many people hate Katara. Nobody ever likes the female characters.
