Hey gAangsters!
I'm very excited to pass on this exciting information courtesy of Mike and Bryan...

Mike and I are excited to announce we will be doing a signing at this year's San Diego Comic Con, currently scheduled for 4:00 - 6:00 on Saturday afternoon, July 25. We will be filming a documentary on the making of the television series, and we'll be taping our interactions with people while they get their new ATLA SDCC '09 posters signed (which I am drawing right now!). The producers of the documentary will be pulling certain people who make a great impression aside to film "testimonials" about what the series has meant to each of them. Also, we'd love to film people in their best "Avatar" costumes, new or old, earlier in the day on Saturday. We're not sure if there is already a cosplay gathering planned, but it would behoove us greatly if people could gather at a specific time and place on Saturday, dressed to impress! Bring your favorite fan art, puppets, whatever you want to show to the documentary crew. Thanks! See you in San Diego! -Bryan

I am sure many of you are as excited as I am, especially if you have already secured SDCC passes. For those that would like to attend, the convention is currently sold out. However, SDCC has announced that as requests for refunds come in, they will make more passes

Currently our cosplay meet up organizer (Sockaichan) is updating the meet up website as well as updating the Avatar-Crew profile on DevianArt.com.http://www.freewebs.com/sdcci-avatar-meetup/

Here are a few important details so far:
Saturday, July 25th
Autograph Ticket Draw: 10am (Sales Pavilion)
Avatar Cosplay Meet up: 12pm Across from Ballroom 20D
Autograph Signing: 4pm - 6pm
Currently we are waiting for a cosplay meet up thread approval from cosplay.com. It looks like two other groups will be meeting in the same area an hour before we plan to and an hour after. As soon as they approve our topic, we will submit our proposed meet up time.
*Try to be in line early for the Ticket Draw and the Autograph Signing. Make sure you get something to eat and drink in between all the excitement (sorry, its the Momma in me ^_^ )
Also, I would like to echo something Bryan mentioned in his announcement. The documentary's paramount is the original animated series. This is a wonderful opportunity for the creators to go deeper into the creative process behind Avatar, and celebrate the series through their eyes and those of many of the fans. Their presence at SDCC this year focuses on the documentary, and not the live action films. Its my understanding that some fans hoped to protest the casting of Last Airbender at SDCC. I kindly ask that those passionate fans please refrain from protesting during all the filming surrounding the documentary and the autograph session. Mike and Bryan have absolutely nothing to do with the casting, and it would be awful to hinder their efforts to bring more content to the fans. This is an opportunity to go back to the fandom roots and enjoy what the series has meant to us.
Good luck to everyone hoping to make it out to San Diego this Summer!
