But when you say something instead of making a new thread, and bump up an old one, it's still bad

But still, you're contributing to an existing thread instead of making a new topic. Just like I think it shouldn't be a rule to have a certain number of posts before making a thread, because then people will just spam.

So this might be a really dumb question but would anyone here mind if i created a thread comparing Avatar to events and people in history? I'm probably the only history buff here. And it'll flop after a few days. Just wondering. Oh and if anyone steals my idea i'll hunt you down and eat your immortal soul.

Hate to lower your ego but there's plenty of historians on this site. As for making the thread: don't.There's almost as many threads comparing the FN to America as there are shipping threads.

Not America but early 20th century Japan. And the Rough Rhinos = Roosevelt's Rough Riders. And the fall of Ba Sing Se being similar to the fall of Troy. Well there are most of my ideas. I'm certainly glad that I didn't make a new thread to waste the valuable space in cyberspace.

Those have all been talked about as well but by all means go for it. Just know it's going to be spammed since everyone's sick of seeing them.

Yeah you're right. So know any others that I haven't mentioned? I really wanted to learn new allusions I hadn't thought of.

I forgot my memory of this is vague, but Avatar Day when the Avatar figures are getting burned, back in medieval times the pope was seen as the devil so on "pope day" people would burn figures of the pope in a similar fashion.

I think we need a "safeword" on this forum, for when things get "too serious".

Common safewords: "grapes", "elephant", "red", "first", "super stop", "in before the lock", "stop now you moron!"...
