I think it's good that they lost the word 'Avatar' in the title. James Cameron has been working on his 'Avatar' movie for quite a while, much longer than Bryke and Shyamalan. It's only fair that he gets the name.

Still, The Last Airbender sounds cool.

But will it have a sub-heading, like 'The Last Airbender; Siege of the North' so as not to confuse it with movies 2 and 3? Or will they call it 'The Last Airbender', then call movie 2 'Tales of Ba Sing Se' or something like that, and movie 3 'Into the Inferno' or something?

I prefer if they left Avatar in the name, but hey, whatever works. How HARD is it to not confuse the two movies? Anyway: I think they'll each have subtitles, like what Tomtitan said. Provided the first does well enough to spawn the next two.

ummmmmmmm no one in this thread has spoken to the fact that we got ONE FACT that it was different from the flier, and so far the ONLY FACT that was proven false was the release of the first movie.(and probably the three "1 hour episodes" for fall 2009 but is not confirmed)

Wise if that turns out to the ONLY thing that was 'out-dated' on the marketing flyer, I will be a very happy camper.

As much as I loathe Nick I do have to compliment them on two key things over the past 7 days in Avatar fandom--one, they clearly knew we were all squee-ing over the marketing flyer and came forward to say it was not accurate. They didn't have to do that. And two, they FINALLY released the actual date for the first live-action movie.

And now we have the NYCC to look forward to and possibly WAT on Friday, April 18th. SQUEE!

They can call it whatever they want so long as they make it and make it well.

I figured they'd be doing that. And 2010 sounds about right. Now, I figure we won't be getting an actual trailer till atleast late summer next year, maybe earlier.

I'm anticipating that the "TLA" trailer will be like when I first saw the Harry Potter movie trailer (the first one obviously). Major fangasm! I didn't even know that word and I definitely had one. If I'm in the theatre when I see that trailer, here's what will happen.

    *trailer starts*

    Me: Holy sh*t! It's Avatar!

Audience: oO Shh! *random person is talking to someone else*

Me: Shut the f**k up!! AVATAR OMG! ITS THE AVATAR TRAILER! (Yes, I will capslock when I see it) *makes noises like when Frothers gets excited*

Along the lines of that. (I severely need sleep..)

Are you my secret twin? o_________________________________O

I'm kind of in the grey area about the fact the movie will be in live-action. It just may be a bad idea. I don't know.

"The Last Airbender"... It's mysterious, mystical, and encompasses (to a certain extent) the meaning of the movie. I like it.

and I think the flier also made NICK "release the date DVD 4 will come out" earlier than planned, I was expecting it the first week of May, just ahead of the date of DVD 3 being released as they did with DVD 2(date put on sale) and DVD 3(date they released the "date it will be put on sale" )

if one thinks....... it is fairly fast, they will shoot ALL 3 MOVIES!!!! at the same time period(2009 mostly)so they can either show movie 2 in late 2010 and movie 3 in mid 2011(like pirates for the last 2 movies), or release number 2 in 2011, and number 3 in 2012(like LOTR)

so heard it's gona be a trilogy

A trilogy is most of time

    3 movies of 3 hours

    First airs 2010

    Second 2012/2013

    Third 2014/2015

    Or ?

    I hope it's gona be 3hour movies.

    Based on the series

But they must do years I think 2010, 2010 and 2011, I don't think so

    movie 1= book 1
    movie 2= book 2
    movie 3= book 3

Aang is 12 years old during all 3 movies(and all characters stay same age)

that equals to all 3 movies being shot at the same time
