The release date has been announced as July 2, 2010

The movie will now be called The Last Airbender dropping Avatar from its name so to disregard any confusion with James Cameron's Avatar.

I think it should be called "The Legend of Aang", just in case there is some evidence of other Airbenders in the end.

But, oh, I read an interview M. Night did, and he was cracking me up. To put it simply, he used one, not so appropriate word to describe the world while the Fire Nation is controlling it. XD

How about "The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender?" That way everybody wins!

A bit wordy, but it actually doesn't sound that bad.

I figured they'd be doing that. And 2010 sounds about right. Now, I figure we won't be getting an actual trailer till atleast late summer next year, maybe earlier.

How cool. It's released the day after my 17th birthday!
I'll probably be into different shows, then remember Avatar immediately (once the trailer arrives), re-obsess, and get in line for the tickets. XD
Whether the movie is good or not, I'd love to see the final product.

    ummmmmmmm

no one in this thread has spoken to the fact that we got ONE FACT that it was different from the flier, and so far the ONLY FACT that was proven false was the release of the first movie.(and probably the three "1 hour episodes" for fall 2009 but is not confirmed)

Too many people are still stuck in this one track mindset that animated = cartoon = for kids. With a live-action movie hopefully M. Night's creativity isn't being suppressed like Mike and Bryan's.

I'm anticipating that the "TLA" trailer will be like when I first saw the Harry Potter movie trailer (the first one obviously). Major fangasm! I didn't even know that word and I definitely had one. If I'm in the theatre when I see that trailer, here's what will happen.

    *trailer starts*

    Me: Holy sh*t! It's Avatar!

Audience: oO Shh! *random person is talking to someone else*

Me: Shut the f**k up!! AVATAR OMG! ITS THE AVATAR TRAILER! (Yes, I will capslock when I see it) *makes noises like when Frothers gets excited*

Along the lines of that. (I severely need sleep..)

yep that will pretty much be my reaction too
