I know that there has been alot of talk.. and I mean alot of talk about whether or not there should be a forth season of avatar. Heres my idea what about not having it continue and drag on and tarnish this already great series that could possibly one day be a classic. That we have Michael Dante Dimartino & Bryan Konietzko make a prequel to what has happened before the war started. Like the Aang's childhood and his steps towards becoming the avatar and then the start of the war or perhaps the stories of what has gone on during the war. Maybe the viewpoint of someone during Aang's hibernation. However if this does happen its probably going to be a very grime series. We'll see alot of people lose their familys, die, and horrible acts commited upon them, Discuss.

in my opinion since the creators are so good at doing what the do they should either make a BOOK 4: AIR and show the secrets of the airbender and reveal some that were hiding.................................................................................... or do a BOOK 4: THE FUTURE and shows what happens to them when they grow up and if kataang or tophaang evr happend

    yes?no?

Book 4: Another Side; Another Story.

With balance restored to the world and Aang's mastery completed, he quickly becomes nothing more than a political figure and negotiator (much like the Jedi in more peace-able times). He no longer has time for Sokka and Katara (who has come around to his love, but he has opted to shun her) and the losses of the war weigh on his soul.

The world is taken by surprise when a surge of evil appears from the blue and the Kalki, the Destroyer Avatar appears to mark the end of the Kali Yuga. The very fate of the Earth rests in the Avatar's hands who is too disenheartened to know what he's fighting for.

Is this "Kalki: the destroying Avatar" your idea or part of the whole Avatar legend?

Wiki it. The Kalki is a part of the Avatar legend. One of the forms of the Avatar is the Avatar of Time, who will end the era. I like the idea of a Anti-vatar.

At some point in the series they gotta talk about the very first Avatar...I've always said that there's another reason the Avatar has to master the elements...he's always had to maintain balance right? what has upsetted that balance? some threat right? right now it's the Fire Nation...before...it was Chin the Conqueror...and before that probably was someone or something else threatening the world...maybe all the threats to the balance haven't all been human...maybe one of those inhuman threats will return...

I would be more interested in hearing(or seeing) about the exploits of the very first Avatar. This would be a true prequel, as nothing that we have seen in the show is gonna happen for a while. I think it would allow the writers to dwelve into the mitygritty of bending and put to paper alot of the theories and ideas that are behind what we now see in the show.
We could be given a much more indepth answer as to how people can bend, and what exactly it is that determines wheither or not someone can bend. You could see the walls of Ba Sing Se when they were simply a fence.

It's not exactly a good idea for a kid's show. But a neat thought.

Would be cool... but it would not have Katara or Sokka, or Mommo.

Or Season 3 could be about him learning firebending, the finale being the war starting, and the fourth season about him saving the world.

As I said before. I would like to see a Lost Chapters series. 4 books over each book would be the span of 25 years during the time Aang was missing. Book 1 would be about Afiko his life and why he betrayed.
Book 2 would be about a Fire Nation Soldier during the start of the war, and his 25 years of service and what he sees and does.
Book 3 could be about a explorer from the Earth Nation and how he sees the world though the eyes of a civilian.
Book 4 could be about Katara's parents and their lives.
