    if aang and katara had kids(dont comment about that),,, what type of bender would it be? could it bend?? all elements with water being its strong point, or could it just bend water, or none of the above?

    No only the avatar can bend all the elements and also just go to the ask a question getan answer forum, but to answer either water or air

    There are multiple threads about this already. No one knows exactly what type of bender they would be, but it definitely couldn't bend all of the elements (as mentioned above). it would most likely be a waterbender, an airbender, or a non-bender.

    no, because then there would be no point of there being an avatar. there is only one person that can bend all of the elements, and there are no inbetweens. say if a firebender and earthbender reproduced, then it would either be a firebender, an earthbender, or a non-bender, never a multiple bender.

    Even though I'm very, very. very, very against that pairing, seeing as Aang can bend anything, the kid/s would and could be anything. There are quite a few fanfics out there about children of our favorite 'benders and they have 2 or more bending abilities. And who's to say it couldn't happen??

    this question probably wont be answered in the show either.we will just have to imagine. plus we dont know what happens if people from different nationalities breed,( i think) so we will probabaly just have to keep our opinions and not get an answer.

    When Aang dies who's to say one of his grandkids with Katara won't be born as the Avatar? If they're born as??Waterbender at first...it could happen

    yeea... in some fan fics... they have multiple children and each kid can do each element- but in my opinion probably air or water.

    People see this a fairly black-and-white issue. One side "Only the avatar can do more than one" the other "The children of the avatar might do more than one". I'm with the second really. It makes for cooler Fanfics...

    My guess is water. I always viewed the ability to bend as a trait governed by recessive genes. Since both Katara and Aang carry the trait the likelihood for and offspring to be able to waterbend would be very high. (vs. airbending, eartbending, and firebending, none of which a waterbender would carry the 'gene' for) And who knows? Maybe more than one? It IS the avatar afterall. My only guess is that water would be most likely.

    That said, isn't Aang a monk? Wouldn't he be sworn to celibacy anyway? *inner zutarian emerges*
